Leon Bailey is facing controversy after a video showing him in a compromising position with a woman was leaked online.

A Jamaican professional footballer, Leon Patrick Bailey, plays as a right winger for Premier League club Aston Villa and the Jamaica national team.

He arrived in Europe at 13 and played for several clubs at youth level before being signed by Belgian side Genk in 2015, where he was named Belgian Young Footballer of the Year.

His success in Belgium earned him a move to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in 2017. After four years at the club, he was signed by Aston Villa in 2021 for a fee of around $40 million.

Additionally, he played in a friendly match for Jamaica under-23s on March 8, 2015, versus the Cayman Islands under-23 side, where he scored directly from a free kick.

In March 2017, it was reported that Bailey would refuse Jamaica call-ups until the standards of Jamaican football improved.

Later, in May 2019, he was named to the Jamaican provisional squad for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup, with Bailey officially announcing that he would accept the call-up and represent the Reggae Boyz.

He was listed in Jamaica’s Copa America 2024 squad on June 12, 2024.

His agent and stepfather stated on social media that Bailey’s position regarding his participation with Jamaica was unchanged, and he would not be joining up with the squad for the tournament.

A Private Video Showing Leon Bailey In An Intimate Situation With An Unidentified Woman Was Leaked Online

Jamaican footballer and Aston Villa forward Leon Bailey was caught in controversy after an alleged video showed him in a compromising position with an unidentified woman.

The video went viral, prompting Bailey to deactivate his Instagram handle.

The incident comes at a time when Leon was on the verge of sealing a $33 million deal with Neom SC and moving to Saudi Arabia.

Football fans went wild, with some speculating that the leaked video could hamper the move, while others speculated that Saudi may overlook the controversy in light of his capabilities.

If the deal becomes a reality, the Jamaican international will earn up to $13 million a year, tax-free.

As per several sources, the leaked video allegedly shows Leon engaging in a private moment with a woman, not his current partner, Stephanie Hope.

Bailey has stepped out of social media following the leaked video. There is no official comment from Leon or Aston Villa over the footage.

There are also some alleged messages exchanged on Snapchat between Leon and a woman. While Leon Bailey has not addressed the alleged video directly, he responded to a skit shared on Instagram.

Bailey responded in the comments, saying,

“Leon Bailey come yah deh mek we reason,” “Dawg easy yah f**kry man eno.”
