A standout student-athlete of the Gloucester City Jr. Sr. High School, Olivia Blymer passed away at the age of 19 after a courageous battle with cancer for two years.

Born on March 30, 2006, Olivia was a member of the Gloucester softball program.

During the 2021-2022 season, Liv played as a junior, wearing jersey number 16.

Her softball team, Gloucester City, led by head coach Megan Mason, finished with an impressive 19-6 record that season, going 14-2 in the Colonial-Patriot division.

Later, they won the state Group 2 championship in 2024.

Olivia Blymer Fought Bravely Against Cancer For Nearly Two Years!

Olivia “Liv” Blymer was a talented student-athlete from Gloucester City Jr. Sr. High School.

She was deeply passionate about athletics, playing multiple sports throughout her high school career.

Liv was recognized for her competitive drive, teamwork, and leadership, making a lasting impact on her peers and coaches.

She dreamed of continuing her sports journey beyond high school while pursuing higher education.

Sadly, in 2023, during her senior year, Liv was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Despite the devastating diagnosis, she underwent surgery to remove her right ovary and fallopian tube and made an impressive recovery.

Then, she continued her education, enrolled in college, and worked at Target.

Unfortunately, in October 2024, doctors discovered that her liver cancer had unknowingly spread from her ovary.

This aggressive cancer forced Liv to withdraw from college and quit her job, halting her aspirations once again.

On February 7, 2025, Liv’s family shared that she had undergone four rounds of chemotherapy and had scans done.

Tragically, the treatment didn’t work as hoped; some tumors grew, and new ones also appeared, making her battle even more complex.

While Liv was ready to start a new round of chemotherapy, staying strong in her fight, her loved ones urged the community to continue their prayers and support.

Heartbreakingly, after battling for a long time, Liv passed away at the age of 19 on May 12, 2025, leaving her family, friends, and community heartbroken.

Liv’s Parents Stood By Her Side Throughout Her Battle With Cancer!

Liv’s passing was an unimaginable loss for her family, especially her parents, Kellie Sweeney and Jim Blymer.

Kellie expressed her deep sorrow and love for her beloved daughter, saying:

I will love you forever and ever. My life will never be the same without you. My girl.

To support the family and help with medical expenses, there is a GoFundMe campaign titled “Support Liv Blymer’s Fight Against Cancer.”

Melanie Hussey organized this campaign on behalf of Liv’s mother, Kellie, who lost her job while caring for Liv.

The fundraiser was created to help cover medical expenses and support Liv’s family during the difficult time.

Community members, relatives, and friends are pouring in their support for Liv’s family during this heartbreaking time.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Olivia “Liv” Blymer’s family, friends, and well-wishers.

Rest In Peace, Beautiful Soul!
