Atkins High School Lacrosse Player Claire Wagaman Died Untimely, Leaving Parents and Siblings Heartbroken!

Lacrosse player Claire Wagaman passed away on August 30, 2025; however, details surrounding her sudden demise remain unknown.

The community of Winston-Salem is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Claire Wagaman.

Claire Wagaman is survived by her parents, Branan and Barbara Wagaman, and her siblings Cooper, Stella, and Taylor.

Thus far, none of her family members has broken their silence surrounding her demise.

She shared a sound bond with her father, Branan, a former beverage operations manager at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Likewise, he also shared a glimpse of their family lives.

Her brother, Cooper Wagaman, is studying a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Claire Wagaman was a standout junior on the Atkins High School Varsity Lacrosse team, playing as #1 for the 2027 class.

She had been a key part of the team since her freshman year in 2023, when the team posted a strong 10-4 record and finished second in their conference with a 6-2 record.

That season, Atkins ranked #81 in the state and #1967 nationally, showing they were a solid squad.

Claire had a bright future ahead as she continued to grow with the Camels; however, her life was cut short.

Her best friend, Addison Vanhoy, shared a collage of their pictures, writing:

Likewise, her friend Emma also shared a video and a picture, writing:

i’ll always love you so dearly claire. my 7th grade nal teamate to my
sophmore year lunch
buddy. rest easy sweet girl

Thus far, details surrounding her funeral services have yet to be published by her family.

During this difficult time, we pray for the strength of Claire’s parents, siblings, friends, teammates, and extended family.
