The couple first met through Gertz’s publicist. While she was at the peak of her career, Ressler was simply a banker, not a wealthy businessman. In 2018, the actress recalled:

“I made more money—way more money—than Tony when I met him. I paid for our first home. I paid for our first trip. I married him because I was in love with him.”

After meeting at a party, Ressler asked Gertz out for brunch by sending her flowers, which marked the beginning of their love story.

Their love gradually blossomed into a two-year relationship, eventually leading to their marriage in 1989.

The pair welcomed their three sons and a daughter: Oliver, Nicholas, Theo, and Abigail, adding joy and happiness to their lives.

From strangers to life-long companions and business partners, Ressler and Gertz came a long way.

They have seamlessly blended their professional success with a shared commitment to philanthropy and family values.

While Ressler specializes in finance and business as the co-founder of Ares Management and principal owner of the Atlanta Hawks, Gertz serves as a public face for their joint philanthropic efforts.

Furthermore, Ressler has described his wife, Jami Gertz, as an anchor of his life. Despite their nobility, the couple has kept their personal life private, rarely making headlines for personal matters.

Ressler and his wife are members of the investment group that owns the Milwaukee Brewers. In 2015, they also became owners of the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA.

Furthermore, Gertz represented the Hawks in the NBA draft lottery for the 2018, 2019, and 2020 NBA drafts.

In 2010, the couple were awarded the top celebrity charitable donors by The Giving Back Fund.

Jami and Tony also founded the Ressler Gertz Family Foundation in Atlanta to support Black-owned businesses.
