Avery Rice, a 13-year-old native of Anacortes, Washington, passed away in a tragic accident, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.

According to reports, the 13-year-old Avery Rice passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from injuries sustained in a snowboarding accident.

The untimely death of the Washington native Avery Rice has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.

He was a kind and intelligent teenage boy who lit up the room with his cheerful and humorous nature.

Moreover, he was an exceptional snowboarder and lived an adventurous life.

The whole Anacortes and Skagit community is mourning the untimely and tragic death of their beloved member Avery Rice and sending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Supporters Created GoFundMe Page for Late Avery Rice’s Family

The Washington community has created a fundraiser to help the family of late Avery Rice during this difficult phase.

The GoFundMe page reads:

“As anyone can imagine, this significant loss has changed this family’s life forever. We know that nothing will bring Avery back but we are asking for family, friends, and anyone reading this who are compelled to help, please consider donating. These funds will go directly to the family for funeral/memorial costs, lost wages during this grieving period, and for any other unexpected expenses that arise during this heartbreaking process. Furthermore, Kaitlan Henderson organized the fundraiser with a goal of raising $40k. To date, 300 donations have been made, raising around $34,650, i.e. 87 percent of the targeted goal.

Left to cherish the life of late Avery Rice are his parents, Brian Rice and Rose Schanen Rice, his elder brother Elliot, and the whole family.

Talking about his parents, while both Brian and Rose haven’t shared anything regarding the untimely death of their beloved youngest son Avery Rice, they often share pictures of him on their social media expressing their love for him.

His father, Brian Rice, is an Inventory Material Specialist at HF Sinclair in Anacortes, Washington, and his mother, Rose, is an Oncology nurse.

Rose currently works at Skagit Regional Health Cancer Care Center in Mount Vernon.
