Baseball and Basketball Player Robert L. “Bob” Larrick, 86, Passes Away Leaving Behind His Wife Karen And Six Children

An excellent basketball and baseball player, Robert L. “Bob” Lee Larrick tragically passed away on Friday.

Robert was born on August 15, 1938, in Highland County, Ohio, to George E. and Minnie L. Larrick.

He served his country from 1961 to 1967 in the Army National Guard at Fort George Meade, Maryland.

Larrick then followed with employment at Ohio Sealer in Dayton, Ohio, in Production and then as a Production Supervisor, retiring in 2006 after 44 years of service.

He was an excellent basketball and baseball player, earning Varsity letters in both sports.

Because of his love for baseball, he spent 18 years coaching his teams at a baseball field through Little League and the Babe Ruth League in Fairborn.

He took over control of the Babe Ruth League as it was about to collapse and ran that League for 5 years.

Robert L. “Bob” Larrick Tragically Died At The Age Of 86

As per the reports, a talented basketball and baseball player, Robert L. “Bob” Larrick, died on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the age of 86.

However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.

His granddaughter, Natosha Reno, took to her official Facebook handle and mourned the loss of Robert. She wrote,

Other close ones and relatives have also poured their heartfelt condolences to Robert’s family to stay strong in this difficult time.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Byron Church, 3230 Trebein Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Byron Cemetery.

Robert L. “Bob” Larrick Had Six Children With His Wife, Karen

As per the sources, Robert L. “Bob” Larrick was married to Karen in 1977.

Sadly, their married life ended after 48 years following the tragic death of Robert.

The couple was blessed with six children: Michael D. Burns, Deborah Burns, Robert E. Larrick, and Ronnie L. Larrick, Richard J. Burns, and Michael L. Larrick.

Michael tied the knot with Janet, Ronnie married Angela, and Richard is married to Connie.

Robert was a devoted grandfather to 9 grandchildren: Tadd Woodie (Lisa), Brandi (Kurt) Burcham, Brandon Best, Courtney (Cody) Haradon, Eric Nickell (Jodi), Richard (Samantha) Burns, Natosha (Chris) Reno, Michael (Margo) Salmons, and Alysha Mauer (Scott). 

They are mourning the death of their supportive and devoted father, Robert.

  • Bob was a huge NASCAR fan, particularly an avid Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan. Traveling with his wife all over the country to many NASCAR tracks.
  • He was part-owner of a dirt track car that raced at Atomic, KilKare, Shady Bowl, and Eldora Speedway. Bob was a member of The Byron Church for over 30 years, serving as Usher, Trustee, and Financial Secretary.
