Kerry Wood and Sarah Pates Wood met in 2000 at Cactus, a small bar and grill in Chicago, when Sarah was attending school and working at the establishment.

The couple dated for around 10 months, and in November 2002, they tied the knot in Hawaii.

As of 2025, Kerry and Sarah have been married for over 22 years.

Sarah graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, with a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational behavior and a minor in business.

As per the source, Kerry’s wife Sarah was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in February 2015 and underwent a bilateral mastectomy.

Kerry and Sarah are working through the Wood Family Foundation.

The foundation has funded the construction of a playroom for children receiving cancer treatment at the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital.

Kerry and Sarah sold their six-bedroom, 11,000-square-foot Winnetka home on Higginson Lane on February 26, 2020, for $4.15 million.

A few weeks after selling the home, they bought a smaller one, 7,500 square feet and an unreported number of bedrooms, on Prospect Avenue for just under $4 million.
