Christopher Plattenburg, better known as Chris Plattenburg, tragically passed away in a car accident on Friday, June 13, 2025.

So far, the nature and circumstances of the car accident remain unknown, while his family and friends are grieving in private.

Chris Plattenburg is survived by his wife, Kelsey Plattenburg,  and their three children: Maddux and twins.

Likewise, he leaves behind his parents, Jennifer and Randy Plattenburg; his sister, Julie Plattenburg Sullivan; his brother-in-law, Mike Sullivan; and his sister, Bethany Little.

He was a devoted family man who loved his wife and three munchkins to the fullest and did everything to bring a smile to their face.

Chris and his wife of 7 years, Kelsey Plattenburg, first experienced parenthood in 2019 with the arrival of their son, Maddux. Three years later, the couple expanded their family of three to five as twins were born in 2022.

Neither of his parents has broken their silence surrounding the tragic incident; however, Chris’s mother, Jennifer, updated her profile and cover picture to one featuring him, a silent tribute to her beloved son.

Whereas, the beloved baseball player’s sister, Julia, penned a lengthy bereavement post expressing grief, honoring him, and seeking prayers and support from friends and family.

I don’t want to make this post, but we could majorly use your prayers. My precious brother died in a bad car accident Friday night. We are assuming instantly. We are all in shock and in disbelief!” Julia started the post.

Chris is leaving behind so many people who loved him immensely and are hurting, but we are trying to rest knowing he is well and safe in Jesus’ arms. I want to think that Grandmommy was also waiting for him!

Julia went on to write a brief eulogy describing his warm and welcoming personality, writing:

Chris was always full of life, wore a beautiful smile, was a handsome baseball player, and loved his family so much.

As his big sister, Julie, was nothing but proud of him for all the hard work he put in to provide for his family.

To see his love for his wife and three children also made me ooze with pride! Man, he loved hard!

Julia

Julie later wrote words of faith, sharing her sorrow while holding onto hope. She asked for prayers and reminded us of the fragility of life.

In her message, she found comfort in God’s love and encouraged others to trust in His strength, writing:

Our God is with us! This is a victory because Chris is free and whole with our savior and waiting for us! Satan has no hold on us! We have to believe, and if you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus, it’s time! We aren’t promised tomorrow! Thank you for loving us and praying for us!

Julia

Julie also went to notify that, thus far, his family hasn’t made any funeral arrangements yet; however, they will update as soon as possible.

During this difficult time, we’d like to offer our sincere condolences to Chris Plattenburg’s wife, children, parents, sisters, friends, and extended family.

Rest In Heavenly Peace, Chris Plattenburg!
