Baseball writer Scott Miller and his wife, Kim Miller, enjoyed living in San Diego.

Scott Miller, a beloved sports writer, died following a battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 62.

MLC Communications shared a tribute to Miller on Twitter, stating,

“Tonight we remember Scott Miller – a true gentleman, a class act, and an expert of his craft who loved our National Pastime. We extend our deepest condolences to his loved ones and his readers throughout the game. #MLB,”

Longtime MLB insider Ken Rosenthal also shared a tribute for Miller during FOX’s national broadcast.

Jon Heyman also offered his heartfelt condolences to Miller on Social media. He wrote,

“Very sad about this, “Scott was an incredible teammate at CBS and great writer. Best to Kim, Gretchen and the whole Miller family.” “Amazing Scott was able to finish his book just last month,”  “It is great!”

Joel Sherman also took to his Twitter handle and mourned the loss of Scott. He wrote,

“Scott was relentlessly nice in a business too often short on kindness,” “His loss will be felt by the entire baseball community that admired his talent and decency.”

Scott wrote about Major League Baseball for more than 30 years. He contributed to The New York Times, Bleacher Report, The Los Angeles Times, and many other publications.

Just five weeks before his death, he published a book called “Skipper: Why Baseball Managers Matter and Always Will.”

Scott will always be remembered for his unforgettable contributions as a sports writer. Rest in Heaven, Scott Miller.

Scott Miller tied the knot with Kim Miller, a Los Angeles resident. However, their exact wedding date has not been revealed.

As per the source, Kim is also a former sports writer. Scott and Kim enjoyed living in San Diego.

Kim helped Scott in balancing his personal and professional life.

Sadly, their married life ended following the tragic death of Scott.

Sports Writer Scott And His Wife Kim Miller Were Blessed With One Daughter

Scott and Kim Miller have one daughter, Gretchen Miller, who is an executive assistant and film producer at The Representation Project.

According to her Facebook profile, she is originally from Carlsbad, California, but currently resides in Sacramento, California. She studied political science at UC Davis.

Later, Gretchen received her bachelor’s degree in cinema & digital media from the University of California in 2019.

She served as a waitress at Spiritos Italian Diner from June 2016 to July 2018. She was a documentary intern at The Culture C.O.-O.P.

Miller also served as the study abroad administrative assistant at UC Davis Global Affairs from September 2018 to August 2019.

She was a producer for Fair Play Documentary for around two years.

Since September 2019, Gretchen has been serving as an executive assistant and film producer at The Representation Project.

Currently, she is mourning the tragic death of her supportive and devoted father, Gretchen Miller.
