Bobby Cook, a veteran high school basketball coach and educator, passed away on May 13, 2025, at the age of 77 at his home surrounded by his wife Linda, kids, and the whole family.

Bobby Cook, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, was renowned for his decades-long career as an educator and basketball coach.

He showcased his amazing coaching skills as the head basketball coach of several renowned high schools nationwide.

Moreover, Bobby Cook served as the head coach of Shelbyville High School, Glasgow High School, Warren Central High School, Adair County High School, and several AAU Boys’ and Girls’ teams.

Bobby Cook was also inducted into the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame and into the Shelbyville, Glasgow, and Warren Central High School Halls of Fame.

His legacy and contribution to the community as an amazing coach and educator will always remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and loved ones.

Similarly, many of his loved ones are sending their heartfelt condolences to Bobby Cook’s wife, Linda Casey Cook, and kids during this difficult time and paying tribute to the legendary high school coach.

The late Bobby Cook first met his wife, Linda, at Shelbyville High School, the couple’s alma mater.

What started as a simple friendship blossomed into a beautiful relationship, leading to a lovely marriage.

Bobby Cook and his beloved wife Linda enjoyed a joyful journey together, happily sharing 58 wonderful years of love and laughter.

While very little information about Linda’s professional life is available, she often shares pictures of her beloved husband, Bobby Cook, on her social media, expressing her love and pride.

Bobby Cook And His Wife Linda Raised Three Successful Children

Bobby Cook was not just an amazing husband to his longtime wife, Linda Casey Cook, but also a great father to their three kids: son, Michael Alan Cook, and daughters, Casey Cook Ramage and Amy Cook Phillips.

Moreover, late Bobby Cook and his wife Linda raised all three of their children to succeed in their respective fields and instilled kindness in them.

While very little information about their only son, Michael Cook, is available, his Facebook profile displays that he attended Glasgow High School, where his father served as head basketball coach and earned his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Kentucky.

Moreover, Michael Alan Cook currently lives with his wife Robin in Shelbyville.

Talking about Bobby Cook’s daughters, both of his daughters, Amy and Casey, are thriving in their careers.

Casey Cook Ramage is an award-winning marketing executive with over 20 years of experience in the field.

She has been serving as the VP of Marketing and Partnerships of Churchill Downs Racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky, since 2021.

Prior to that, Casey was the Chief Marketing Officer of Champion Gaming and the Vice President of Marketing of EdjSports.

Furthermore, after earning her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Kentucky in 2000, Casey began her career as a Faith and Values Media marketing manager in Lexington, KY.

She also served as the director of showrooms and accessories at Brown Jordan in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and the director of marketing at Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, CA.

Furthermore, Casey worked as vice president and senior director of marketing of Churchill Downs Incorporated for four years.

Regarding Amy Cook Phillips, she has been working as a First Class Pre-K Lead and Auxiliary Teacher of Madison City School in Madison, Alabama, for over 11 years.

Earning her child development certificate from Calhoun Community College and her early childhood education from Athens State University, Amy also taught Bricks 4 Kidz for over four years.

Similarly, she worked as a preschool teacher at Asbury United Methodist Weekday for almost eight years.

Amy earned her bachelor’s in psychology from Western Kentucky University and Auburn University.

In addition to his wife and children, Bobby Cook’s son-in-laws, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews are left to cherish his life.

  • Bobby Cook’s burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to contribute to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Hosparus Health or the Molly Harlin Scholarship Fund.
  • He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mary Evelyn Perry Cook and his sister, Mary Sullivan.
