Ben Griffin recently spoke emotionally about his parents after winning the Charles Schwab Challenge.
In his post-round press conference, he reflected on their sacrifices for him, especially during the 2008 recession, when his family lost their home.
Despite financial struggles, his parents ensured he could continue playing golf, taking him to a public course in Chapel Hill to practice his short game.
In the post-round press conference, Griffin, with tears in his eyes, expressed respect to his parents, saying:
My parents, they always considered themselves middle to upper class, but I knew there for a little bit when we lost our house, when we lost everything. I know they sacrificed a lot for me, and I credit a lot of my success down the stretch today to my short game. It kept me in it, and that’s what I did as a kid. That’s what helped my short game be so good down the stretch today.
Regarding his siblings, Ben Griffin has a younger brother named Stuart Griffin. Their family has been deeply involved in his golf journey.
