Roethlisberger was born as Benjamin Todd Roethlisberger Sr. on 2 March 1982. Lima, Ohio, is his hometown. The idea of Jane and Kenneth Todd Roethlisberger was born. At Georgia Tech, Kenneth is a retired quarterback and pitcher.

Back in high school, Roethlisberger began playing football. He was the captain of several basketballs, baseball, and football teams. Up until his senior year, when he played quarterback, Ben’s position was generally wide receiver.

High School Years 

Roethlisberger was the captain of the Trojans’ football, basketball, and baseball teams at Findlay High School in Findlay, Ohio. In comparison, Roethlisberger did not play quarterback until his senior year, giving way to the coach’s son, Ryan Hite.

College Career

Roethlisberger played at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, as a college quarterback. He was sporting a redshirt for his first season in Miami. During his time at university, he broke many school records. 

For passing yardage and touchdown throws, he has also set many rookie records. In the history of the Miami University football team, he is the most prolific college quarterback. In passing yards, completions, and a touchdown pass, and in 2001, he led the Redhawks.

On 31 August, the 2002 regular-season opener against North Carolina was started by Roethlisberger. In the 27–21 win over North Carolina, he passed for 204 yards and had a career-high 59-yard punt. Ben broke the MAC single-game record for passing yards in a 48–41 loss to Northern Illinois. 

With a total of 3,238 passing yards and 271 completions in 2002, he set the Miami single-season record.

Roethlisberger was named the 2003 MAC Offensive Player of the Year. During his homecoming on 13 October 2007, the Miami RedHawks retired his jersey number #7. 

That was the first time a football jersey number has been retired by Miami in 34 years. He is only the third player in Miami football history to have his number retired, joining John Pont and Bob Hitchens. Ben was also the first player to win the Heisman Trophy in Miami’s history.

The Redhawks’ success in 2003 in Miami led to the belief that he would be selected early. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, ESPN started streaming MAC games in 2000. Roethlisberger scored a 25 on the Wonderlic at the Combine.

2004 season

2005 season

2006-2007 season

2008-2009 season

2010-2015 season
