The Baltimore Ravens’ recent loss became a blessing in disguise for Mark Andrews as Bills fans rallied to support his charity.

Sunday’s divisional-round game between the Ravens and Bills remains a lasting memory for NFL fans.

Ravens tight end Mark Andrews dropped what would have been a game-tying two-point conversion on Sunday’s game, resulting in the Bills, 27-25 victory over his team.

Andrews, who caught a pass from quarterback Lamar Jackson, fumbled the ball, which fell onto the snowy field—along with the Ravens’ hopes of victory.

With the loss of the Ravens, Andrews received negative attention and backlash online.

Andrews, who took the blame for his team’s loss, also received death threats following his three brutal fumbles.

While Mark Andrews dealt with the backlash, Bills fans started a GoFundMe page to raise money for his charity, Breakthrough T1D, which supports juveniles suffering from diabetes.

The campaign organized by Buffalo resident and Bills fan Nicholas Howard aims at raising 50k.

Moreover, the GoFundMe page shared a statement,

“As many of you know Ravens TE wasn’t able to catch the the game tying 2 point conversion and upset Ravens fans. On top of that the TE has been receiving death threats and nasty comments atter his performance last night. We want Bills Mafia to donate to Marks charity for Juvenile diabetes. Let’s reach a goal of at least 5k. Please repost this! LINK TO DONATE WILL BE IN OUR BIO @thebuffalobrief on IG”

To date, around 1.6k donations have been made, and 89 percent, i.e., $44,557, has been raised by Bills fans to support the charity of Ravens tight end Mark Andrews.

The first person to donate was Juanita Vickery, and the top donation came from Paul Urbanowski, who donated $890.

Several donated $89, representing Andrews’ jersey number, while some donated $17, Josh Allen’s jersey number.

Similarly, the Baltimore Ravens took to Twitter to express their gratitude to Bills Mafia for supporting Mark and donating to the charity.

Mark Andrews Has Been A Long Time Supporter Of The Charity Organization

Mark Andrews, a Type 1 diabetic since childhood, has been a long-time supporter of the charity Breakthrough TD1, formerly known as JDRF.

Founded in 1970 by people suffering from diabetes, Breakthrough T1D is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization that researches and cures people suffering from T1D.

Talking about Mark Andrews, he was diagnosed with Type I diabetes when he was 9 years old.

Back in 2015, the Baltimore Ravens TE experienced a near-death experience because of his diabetes.

As a freshman at Oklahoma, Andrews was unresponsive due to hypoglycemia, a condition caused by very low blood sugar.

Moreover, his roommate had to shove fruit snacks in his mouth and call the paramedics, which helped Mark regain consciousness.

Despite suffering from a long-term disease, it didn’t stop Mark from pursuing his career and becoming one of the renowned tight ends in the NFL.

Mark Andrews began his NFL journey with the Ravens after being drafted in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft by signing a four-year $3.45 million contract, including a signing bonus of $836,660.
