Patrick C. Lucey, known to many as “Pat” or “Luce,” passed away on September 2, 2025, at the age of 33.

He died surrounded by family and love, leaving behind countless relatives, friends, and colleagues who continue to honor his memory.

Patrick was born in Wakefield on November 13, 1991. He grew up in Methuen, Massachusetts, where he formed lasting bonds, including his lifelong friendship with Jimmy O’Keefe, which began in kindergarten.

Patrick’s childhood was filled with sports, as he played both hockey and baseball, and his passion for athletics stayed with him throughout his life.

Although he avoided the water after a frightening rip tide incident in his teens, Patrick still developed a love for seafood.

His years working at New England Seafood in Methuen deepened his appreciation for fish and even introduced him to sushi, which he enjoyed later in life.

Patrick embraced Boston sports wholeheartedly and loved to debate anyone willing to discuss them.

Fall was his favorite season, especially because of football, and he always looked forward to participating in fantasy drafts with friends.

In his professional life, Patrick worked at Fitzgerald Tile in North Reading, where he built strong friendships with his team.

His colleagues remember him not only for his dedication but also for the warmth and humor he brought to the workplace.

Patrick’s family and friends describe him as genuine, kind, and fiercely loyal. He valued long conversations, often starting them with his signature “hello, hello” that left everyone smiling. His presence filled every room with energy and love, making him a cherished son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend.

Patrick was predeceased by his father, Patrick Lucey. He is survived by his mother, Ranie Melanson; his sister, Jessica Lucey; his grandparents, Donna and Roger Melanson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends, including his devoted group, the Counsel of Fellas. His loss leaves a void that words can hardly capture.

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, September 10, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Glade Cemetery on Lowell Street in Wakefield.

Following the service, family and friends will gather for a celebration of Patrick’s life at Bellino’s Trattoria in Wakefield.

Arrangements are in the care of McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield.
