Oscar Durate Wikipedia- The Mexico-born boxer Oscar Duarte turned 27 earlier this year. He competes in the lightweight division and has won 25 of his 27 fights. 

What is more impressive about Durate is that he has an 80.77% knockout ratio. Since his first loss against Adrian Estrella, Durate has won all of his last 11 fights by either TKO or KO.

The Mexican fighter will be facing Ryan Garcia on December 2, and they will be fighting in the 140-pound weight class. Garcia suffered the first loss of his career earlier this year in April at the hands of Gervonta “Tank” Davis. 

The two boxers came face-to-face at a press conference on Wednesday. Surprisingly, they kept it professional and even talked about each other’s strengths. The fight has already created a lot of buzz as the match will see Garcia return to the 140-pound weight class.

Boxer Oscar Duare was born on January 23, 1996, in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. And despite being born in Mexico, as per the Box Rec website, Durate holds American nationality.

Standing at 5’9, Oscar competes in the light division and usually fights at 135 pounds. Duarte made his boxing debut in 2013 against Manuel Isaias in Mexico City. 

He won the bout with a technical knockout. Since then, Duarte has competed in 26 fights and boasts an astounding record of 25 wins, one loss, and a draw. 

His first loss came against Adrian Estrella in 2019, which he lost by a split decision. After that loss, Durate has gone on to win his next eleven fights and has won them via either TKO or KO.

Durate first stepped into the boxing ring for the first time when he was 11. His friends invited him for a sparring round in the gym, and after the boxing was the only thing Oscar wanted to do.

The Mexico-born boxer has won five state championships, five regional championships, four national titles, and a bronze medal. The fighter is proud of his Mexican heritage and has been seen several times carrying his Mexican flag in the ring. 

Durate is currently in a contract with Golden Boy Promotions and is managed by Gabriel Soto and Guillermo Rocha. He is available on Instagram with the username @oscarduartej and has a following of 27k. 

Oscar Durate Family 

Oscar Duarte was born into a family of Mexican heritage. His parents, Elva and Jose Durate have been previously seen on his Instagram handle but have kept a low profile.

Durate has two brothers, Carlos and Yamil. Carlos is the one who is mostly seen supporting his brother in the ring. In 2020, Oscar shared a birthday tribute post for his brother. Unlike Oscar, Carlos seems to have no interest in boxing. 

Currently, Oscar is in a relationship with a woman named Marcelle Varela Martos. He confirmed his relationship with Marcelle with an Instagram post he shared on ay 7, 2021, on the occasion of Marcelle’s birthday.

Like Oscar, Marcelle is believed to have Mexican roots and is a nutritionist. On her Instagram, Marcelle shares healthy food recipes with her 30k followers. She recently shared a tasty and healthy recipe for blueberry muffins, showing healthy foods can be tasty as well.

Marcelle also provides online consultations and has various nutrition programs on her website, one of them is The Balanse Challenge. The challenge is a 21-day eating program that works on creating healthy habits that are sustainable for the long term. 

Earlier this year, in August, Marcelle shared a video of her traveling to her man’s boxing fight against D’Angelo Keyes in May. Oscar commented on the video, “Something good.”
