Brandon Hunter’s wife, Mary, works as a dentist in Orlando, Florida. Mary and Brandon share three kids, two boys and a girl. 

Only two days before his demise, Hunter had shared a Facebook status talking about how not everyone can make it to the NBA. Hunter played two seasons in the NBA with the Celtics and the Magic.

The Hunter family hasn’t released any statement regarding the passing of the former basketball player and CEO of Hunter Athlete Management. 

Brandon was only 42, and the cause of his death hasn’t yet been announced. A star forward of the Ohio University Bobcats’ basketball team, our prayers are with Brandon’s family during this difficult time.

Brandon Hunter’s wife, Mary Hunter, earned her dentistry degree from The Ohio State College of Dentistry. Mary hasn’t made any statement after the tragic passing of her husband.

Along with being a dentist, Mary also served in the US Army. She worked in a pediatric office and a family practice. Mary graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Biological Sciences in 2002.

Ohio University was also the place where she first met Brandon. Mary joined The Ohio State College a year later to work on her dentistry degree. 

She graduated OSU in 2007 and joined the US Army for three years until 2010. Mary then began working as a General Dentist at Small Smiles Dental Clinic, treating patients, with most being kids.

After working a year at Small Smiles, Mary joined Cincinnati Dental Services in 2011 and worked there for eight years. In 2019, she began working with Advanced Dental Care of Ocoee, and last year joined Smile Brands. 

Mary has also previously completed a four-year Leadership Institute with American Dental Partners and has taken part in many leadership skills programs. Mary is one of three doctors listed on the Smile Brands website, where she works part-time. 

In an interview with WCPO in 2017, Brandon revealed he has two kids, Andrew and Tristan, with his wife, Mary. On his Facebook, Brandon had previously shared a photo with a child, who many believe to be his daughter, their third kid. 

Mary is available on Instagram with the username @maryhunterdds, where she has shared several family pictures.

Their latest family pictures were only two weeks ago, with the family attending their eldest son’s sports ceremony. 

Brandon Hunter Legacy, A Multi-Faceted Man 

Brandon Hunter wasn’t only a man known for his basketball skills. He earned degrees in multiple fields, as he starred in the NBA and across Europe in his basketball career. 

Drafted as the second-round pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, the Ohio University graduate played two seasons in the NBA. He first joined the Boston Celtics and a year later, was part of the Orlando Magic’s team. 

After bidding goodbye to the NBA in 2005, Brandon played in several leagues across Europe, South America, and also in Puerto Rico. He last played as a professional basketball player in 2013 for the Uruguayan Team, Club Atletico Aguada.

After his retirement, Hunter dove into real estate and established the Hunter & Savage Group. He was an NBPA & FIBA Certified Agent and held the CEO and Founder position at Hunter Athlete Management. 

Hunter’s passing was announced by Ohio men’s basketball coach Jeff Boals on Instagram and Twitter.

Orlando Magic took to their social media handle to pay tribute to the former basketball player, writing, “We are terribly saddened to learn of the loss of our former teammate, Brandon Hunter. We send our deepest condolences to the entire Hunter family.”
