Jacksonville Jaguars signed Brandon Mcmanus two days after the Denver Broncos released him.

Brandon Tyler McManus, born on July 25, 1991, is an American football placekicker who is currently signed by Jacksonville Jaguars.

He was a part of the Denver Broncos and played a crucial role in their Super Bowl 50 victory against the Carolina Panthers.

As of 2022, he was the only player from the Super Bowl-winning team remaining on the Broncos’ roster.

McManus began his football career in college at Temple University and entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent, initially signing with the Indianapolis Colts in 2013.

He has also had a stint with the New York Giants during his professional career.

Denver Broncos’ GM George Paton On The Release

GM George Paton expressed his appreciation for Brandon McManus upon his release, acknowledging his development into one of the NFL’s most productive kickers.

Paton acknowledged McManus’ contributions to the Broncos as a Super Bowl champion and team captain, highlighting his ability to deliver clutch kicks throughout his tenure.

Moreover, he also emphasized that Brandon will be remembered as a significant figure in the history of the Denver Broncos.

Brandon McManus Struggled With Accuracy Last Year

Despite his strong leg, Brandon McManus struggled with accuracy last season, particularly from long distances.

He converted only 8 out of 13 attempts (61.5%) from 50-plus yards. Additionally, McManus has been inconsistent in clutch situations throughout his career, except for the Broncos’ 2015 Super Bowl season.

Being among the top-10 highest-paid kickers in the NFL, expectations from fans were high, and some believed that the Broncos should have received a better performance from him.

Hence, for better or worse, the deeds have been done. The outcomes and consequences of this decision will unfold over time.

For now, it is time for McManus to navigate the next chapter of his career, while the Broncos will seek to address their kicking situation moving forward.
