Brice Williams, a point guard for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and former Charlotte 49ers star, credits his parents for his basketball career.
The emerging basketball star Brice Williams was born to athletic parents Henry Williams and Katrina Camp Williams on July 5, 2001, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Like Brice Williams, his parents, the late Henry Williams and Katrina Camp Williams, both graduated from the University of North Carolina.
Furthermore, Brice Williams followed in his late father Henry William’s footsteps and is continuing his legacy in basketball.
Brice’s father, Henry Williams, a UNCC alumni, was an American professional basketball player.
Henry Williams played college basketball for UNC Charlotte under head coach Jeff Mullins from 1988 to 1992.
From his four-year tenure with the Charlotte 49ers, Henry Williams remains the 49ers’ all-time leading scorer with 2,383 points.
Moreover, Henry led the 49ers to the 1992 NCAA Tournament and a 1989 NIT berth.
NBA’s San Antonio Spurs drafted Brice’s father in the second round (44th overall) in the 1992 NBA draft. However, he never played for the team in the NBA.
Likewise, Henry spent most of his professional career in Europe, where he played for Italian teams Scaligera Verona, Treviso, and Roma, winning an Italian League championship in 1997.
Henry Williams was also a senior USA national basketball team member and helped his team win a bronze medal at the 1990 FIBA World Cup.
After retiring from his professional playing career, Henry served as the additional on-air talent of Charlotte Bobcats and was the pastor of New Zion Missionary Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Unfortunately, Brice’s father, Henry, passed away on March 13, 2018, when Brice was in his freshman year at UNCC after suffering from Kidney disease at 49.
Brice continues to excel in his basketball career and carries forward his father’s legacy.
Brice Williams’ parents Raised Him Alongside His Two Older Siblings!
Late Henry Williams and Katrina raised their children, including Brice Williams and his two older sisters, Kristen and Lauren Williams, to be exceptional athletes.
While Brice Williams chose to pursue his career in basketball, his sisters are both former track and field stars at the University of North Carolina.
His sister Kristen Williams is a former star Sprinter for the Charlotte 49ers; during her senior year at UNCC, she competed in five events in the 400m and 4x400m relay and led her team to gold at the Thundering Herd Invitation and Multi, second at the Keydet Invitational and second at the C-USA Championships.
Moreover, Kristen earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science from UNCC and is currently pursuing a doctor of medicine degree at UNC School of Medicine.
Kristen Simone Williams has also been an exceptional personal fitness trainer since 2016.
However, very little information about Brice’s other sister, Lauren, is available, as she prefers to maintain a private life.
All of Williams’s siblings often talk about their parents for always guiding and inspiring them, mainly Brice Williams, who often expresses his appreciation for his mother, Katrina, and late father, Henry.
“I never thought of my dad of anything related to basketball or sports, More motivation, his life. My dad is like my hero.”
Regarding his mother, Katrina Camp Williams is a real estate agent working for the Mooresville real estate agency.
