Christopher Weeks, a local football coach from California who worked with multiple local teams and at Champions Afterschool at Vine Hill, was arrested on September 24 for child sex crimes.
According to his social media profiles, Weekes is a graduate of Soquel High School and resides in Santa Cruz.
He was known for coaching Pop Warner football in Santa Cruz and has coached multiple local teams in Soquel, California.
Reports also indicate that he worked for Champions Afterschool at Vine Hill.
While his arrest is justified, many neighbors on social media have expressed their frustration and anger toward the suspect, urging the community to prioritize the safety of their children.

Christopher John Weekes was arrested in Santa Cruz County, California, on September 24, 2025, for multiple sex-related charges involving a child.
According to a report by the Pajaronian, deputies announced the arrest after receiving reports that a child under 14 was sexually assaulted within the past two months.
Reports suggest that the child was assaulted multiple times. Weeks has been booked on serious felony charges for the crime.
Following the media release from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, community members have expressed their sorrow for the 14-year-old victim while also expressing their anger toward Christopher Weeks.
One of his neighbors, Jasmine Lorene Bowen, expressed her frustration about the case and shared a Facebook post saying:
I am sick to my stomach I pray they throw the book at him! And he gets everything he deserves he ruined that babies life she will never be the same! And god forbid he did this to other children but please Santa Cruz ask ur children they may be scared to come forward! As someone who was SA as a child this breaks my fukkn heart as a parent even with boys this terrifies me! This is someone who partied with us someone who had bbqs someone we watched become a parent to know he could do this I have no more words.
Yall be safe please in our small town of Santa Cruz it can be at ur front door wearing a mask u would have never expected! TRUST NO ONE! & please pray for the victim and the family! Christopher Weekes your out of here no one will ever respect u & u be lucky to walk the streets free again! I pray u did not harm ur own child. I hope u get the maximum sentence.
