Canandaigua Academy’s Football Player Kenny Chizewick, 16, Passes Away Leaving His Parents Ken And Danielle Chizewick

Kenny Chizewick, who played varsity football at Canandaigua Academy, tragically passed away on Sunday.

He was a promising multi-position football player from Canandaigua Academy in Canandaigua, New York, and was a junior in the Class of 2027.

Wearing jersey #5, Kenny played both outside linebacker and wide receiver for the Canandaigua Academy Varsity Football team.

He was a consistent presence on the varsity roster since 8th grade.

In 2022, as an 8th grader, he contributed to a string 9-3 season, helping the team secure 2nd place in the league with a 6-1 conference record and earning a state ranking of #108.

As a freshman in 2023, he continued to grow in his dual-role positions, aiding Canandaigua in a 7-3 campaign, finishing 6-1 in league play.

By his sophomore season in 2024, he was a more established presence on both sides of the ball, and the team posted a 9-2 overall record.

Notably, in an October 2024 game, Kenny and his team dominated Wilson Magnet/Early College International with a decisive 55-12 victory.

Kenneth Timothy Chizewick Tragically Passed Away At The Age Of 16

Kenneth Timothy Chizewick (Kenny) tragically lost his life on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 16. However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.

Kyle DaMore from Manchester, New York, took to his official Facebook handle and mourned the loss of Kenny by stating,

It still doesn’t feel real knowing i’ll never see you again. You were the best coworker. He was loved by everyone and anyone that knew him. He never failed to put a smile on anyone’s face. I’m gonna miss you so much man

January Folts, an owner of J’s Browz and Boutique, also took to her Facebook and sent prayers to Kenny’s family. She wrote,

Thinking of this entire Family! I worked with Dani and Kenny at Eddie’s! They would bring the kiddos including Little Kenny. They were always so great! Little Kenny was the best big brother and amazing son!! This is just heartbreaking! I cannot even imagine how they are.

Eddie O’Brien’s Grillie and Bar-Canandaigua took to their Facebook page and announced that they would be establishing donation buckets at their Canandaigua and Farmington locations.

Every dollar donated will go directly to Kenny’s family to assist with the unexpected expenses that have arisen from the heartbreaking loss.

In addition, they will be hosting a special Benefit Night in Kenny’s memory, and the details will be announced later this week.

According to Kenny’s family, friends are invited to call on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Fuller Funeral Home, Inc., 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua.

An 11 AM funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the funeral home. The interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, 130 N. Pearl St., Canandaigua.

Memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.

Kenny Chizewick’s Parents Separated After His Birth

Born in 2009 in Canandaigua, New York, Kenny Chizewick was born to his father, Kenneth Chizewick, and his mother, Amanda Zayachek.

However, his parents separated shortly after his birth. On July 22, 2017, his father, Kenneth, married Danielle Chizewick, and his mother, Amanda, married Paul Zayachek.

According to Keneth’s Facebook profile, he attended West Valley Central School and studied business at St. Bonaventure University.

Ken worked at The Lake House in Canandaigua. He also served as executive chef at The Pier House at the Ramada.

He is also serving as the kitchen manager at Eddie O’Brien’s Farmington.

On the other hand, Kenny’s stepmother, Danielle, studied Broadcasting and Mass Communications at the State University of New York at Oswego.

Currently, Ken and Danielle are mourning the tragic loss of their young son, Kenny Chizewick.

In addition, Kenny is also survived by his three sisters, Luci, Ophelia, and Olive, and one brother, Jameson Chizewick.
