Patricia Louise Lane, a proud U.S. Army veteran and former star athlete, passed away peacefully at her home in Caryville, Tennessee, on August 3, 2025, at the age of 67.
Born on June 20, 1958, in LaFollette, she was affectionately known as “Tish” to those close to her.
Patricia passed after a prolonged illness, surrounded by family and love.
She lived a life full of compassion, outdoor adventure, service to her country, and athletic excellence, an inspiring presence in both her personal and public life.
Her passing marks the loss of a deeply rooted figure in the Campbell County community.
Patricia’s Athletic Legacy Began at CCHS in the 1970s!
Long before becoming a familiar face in Caryville and LaFollette, Patricia made a name for herself on the fields and courts of Campbell County High School.
In 1977, she was awarded the prestigious Best Athlete award at CCHS, a recognition given to the most versatile and high-performing student-athlete of the graduating class.
This honor reflected not just her natural athletic talent but also her drive, sportsmanship, and leadership in multiple sports during her high school years.

Though specific sports she played were not detailed in public records, the award suggests she excelled across different disciplines and inspired both teammates and coaches.
After graduating, Patricia continued to live an active life. She served in the U.S. Army, which demanded strong physical endurance and discipline.
Later, her favorite pastimes, fishing, camping, and enjoying nature, kept her closely tied to physical wellness and outdoor life.
Her passion for sports, coupled with a love for outdoor activities and military service, defined her as a dynamic and respected figure in both athletics and everyday life.
The Entire Community Is Mourning The Loss of Patricia Louise Lane!
The passing of Patricia Louise Lane has left a deep void not only in her family’s hearts but across the Campbell County community where she spent her life inspiring others.
Following her passing, many residents of Caryville and LaFollette, Tennessee, have posted heartfelt memories on local platforms and funeral home tribute pages.
In addition to her parents, Cleopas and Bonnie Lane, she is also preceded in death by her beloved brother, Robert “Bobby” Lane.
She leaves behind a close-knit family who continue to honor her memory: Connie Lane, Jimmy Lane, Darlene Lane, and Darrell Lane.
Though she never had children of her own, Patricia played a lasting role in the lives of many, whether through her military service or her athletic example.
To honor her life and legacy, a visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Martin Wilson Funeral Home.
At 7:00 PM, military honors will be presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
