Jackson Mitchell, a Celina, Texas native and high school student-athlete, passed away this week at an untimely age, leaving his family, friends, and loved ones devastated.
According to some social media reports, Jackson Mitchell took his own life; however, details surrounding his untimely death have not yet been disclosed.
Jackson Mitchell, a sophomore at Celina High School and a member of the Class of 2028, was a standout athlete in both soccer and football.
Wearing jersey #12 for the Celina High School Boys Soccer team, he also played as a kicker (K) for the Celina Varsity Football team, weighing 145 pounds.
In addition to his high school sports, Jackson was a dedicated member of the Dallas Hornets Soccer Club, which competes in MLS Next, TXT Two League, Champions League, and U90C tournaments.

Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to Jackson on social media and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
The Dallas Hornet SSC took to its social media to announce the passing of its beloved member, Jackson Mitchell, and express its sorrow.
The post reads:
“This is an unimaginable loss and we understand the need for each of us to take the time to process this heartbreaking news.Our thoughts are with the family, friends, teammates, and club-mates. We ask that you respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.”

Similarly, many of his friends are sharing memories of the late Jackson Mitchell on social media.
One recalled Jackson Mitchell as a great person and athlete and requested people to share their feelings with close ones who are struggling with suicidal thoughts.

One of his loved ones shared beautiful pictures of the late Jackson Mitchell and wrote:
“You were so loved bro, and you will be missed dearly. Thank you for impacting so many of our lives in a positive way. We’re grateful for the way that you treated others and how you were always the best guy in the room. Everyone make sure you go to the prayer vigil for Jackson tonight. It’s at 7:30 in the indoor. Hug your friends today, compliment someone random, you have no clue what others could be battling behind closed doors. Your small gesture might make a huge impact. If you are struggling with something, please speak up. Nobody should have to go through their struggles alone. Likewise, Celina High School organized a vigil to honor Jackson Mitchell and to remember his contributions to the school as an outstanding student-athlete.
Jackson Mitchell is survived by his parents, sister, grandparents, and the entire family. His family has yet to provide details about his funeral and memorial services.
