Currently, Charlie Edward Culberson is a baseball infielder for the Atlanta Braves.
The American baseball player signed with the Braves on March 31, 2023, in a minor league contract & was assigned to its Triple-A affiliate Gwinnett Stripers.
For Culberson, who grew up as a Braves fan, it’s the second stint in the Atlanta Braves in 2023. Previously, he played for the team for three seasons from 2018 to 2020.
Culberson has played the MLB teams: Colorado Rockies (2013-2014), Los Angeles Dodgers (2016-2017) & Texas Rangers (2021-2022).

Culberson was born as the youngest of two children to Charles Culberson & Kimberle Ann Culberson (nee Olson) on April 10, 1989. He has an elder sister named Chelce.
The MLB player’s parents have been married since December 29, 1984. The age gap between his father, Charles Sr. (b. November 21, 1962), & mother, Kim (b. Jan 26, 1965 ), is two years, two months & five days.
Culberson’s father used to play baseball in the minor league system.
Charles Sr., a grad of Jacksonville State University, was the 16th round pick of the San Francisco Giants in the 1984 MLB June Amateur Draft.

But he didn’t make the roster cuts to the major league, instead, he played for its minor league teams: Clint Giants, Fresno Giants, Fort Myers & Memphis Chicks, from 1984 to 1988.
As of now, Charles Culberson Sr. runs a youth baseball organization in Plainville, Georgia.
On the other, the baseball star’s mother, Kim, a grad of Everett Community College, worked as a front desk receptionist at a dental office.
It Was Love At First Sight For His Parents
Charlie Culberson’s dad & mom met around the mid-80s.
His father, Charles Sr., then 21, was a draft pick of the San Francisco Giants & played for its rookie-level club in Everett, while his mother Kim, then 18, was working at the deli counter of a local grocery.
As per Kim herself, it was love at first sight for her. The two instantly got in love after Charles Sr. asked her for a date & the rest is history!
Culberson’s Mother Had A Cardiac Arrest
On November 7, 2021, the baseball player’s mother, Kimberle, collapsed on a picnic table due to cardiac arrest.
She was rushed to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta as the situation got worse, but thankfully, she got the pulse back.
Charlie’s father called him & told everything about the incident that followed his visit to the hospital to see his mom in a medically induced coma.

Kim came out of coma on Thanksgiving night. Later, she was discharged from the hospital on December 21, 2021- a perfect Christmas gift for the family.
She was in a wheelchair for a while & spent January & February of 2022 in therapy.
As reported, to raise funds for Charlie’s mother’s extended medical expenses, the Culbersons auctioned a baseball bat signed by 29 members of the 2019 Atlanta Braves team in December 2021.
About her life-threatening incident, she said, “I know it sounds dramatic, but I died and came back. That’s what the doctors told me.”
Charlie Culberson Sister Chelce: Married Life & Kids
Culberson has an elder sister Chelce Culberson Dixon, born in 1985, who is four years older than the Braves infielder.
She went to Armstrong Atlantic & then enrolled at Kennesaw State University, where she played softball for three years.
Chelce currently works as a controller at Hard Time Products, LLC.
She lives in Cartersville, Georgia, with her husband, Michael Chadric Dixon. They married on March 28, 2009, & share three daughters: Presley, Kendall & Miley.

According to the LinkedIn profile of Chad (Chelce’s husband), he serves as the operations team leader at Georgia Power Company (2018-present).
The Shorter University graduate previously worked as a commercial sales manager at Lowe’s Companies, Inc.
