Shonda Perkins is a Texas native and currently resides in Mansfield, Texas. On her Instagram page, Perkins has shared several posts attending Chendall’s games and wearing Longhorns’ merch.

Currently, Shonda is a third-grade teacher at Imogene Gideon Elementary School. During the League Championship series between the Rangers and the Astros, Shonda supported the Rangers, wearing her Rangers t-shirt to school alongside the other teachers.

Right after her first season in the WNBA, Chennedy agreed terms with the Turkish basketball club Elzaig. In 2022, Chennedy signed with the Los Angeles Sparks and played 24 games. Chennedy averaged 8.9 points and 1.9 assists.
