A lifelong football fan, Paul Pierce, better known as the “Famous Football Hero,” passed away at his home in South Jordan, Utah, on November 30, 2025, at the age of 47.
Paul Pierce is survived by his mother, Beverly Pierce; his ex-wife, Jody; his son, Mayson Paul Pierce; his brothers, David and Robert; his wife, Jenny; his sister, Heather, and her husband, Tyler Timothy.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Wade Pierce; both sets of grandparents; and his beloved fiancée, Suzy.
Right after high school, Paul married his sweetheart, Jody Wilde, in June 2001; however, their marriage didn’t last long, and they divorced.
They had a son, Mayson Paul Pierce, who became the absolute light of Paul’s life. Although Mayson looks like his mom’s side, on the inside, he’s pure Paul, with the same sense of humor.
His ex-wife, Jody, set up a GoFundMe to help cover the funeral and memorial costs.
Fortunately, Paul found his home again in early 2024 when he first met Suzy Tran. In no time, they fell head over heels and got engaged by summer.
However, their dream of being together for a lifetime was shattered in pieces on November 12, 2025, when Suzy died suddenly.
It broke Paul in a way nothing ever had before. Eighteen days later, on November 30, he was gone too.
Paul fought addiction for a long time. Some years he won, some years he lost. In the end, it wore him down, but his family says it’s a comfort to think he’s with Suzy again, finally at peace.
Apart from his mother, son, and siblings, Paul also leaves behind his nephews, Marty and Leo Pierce, and his nieces, Liv Pierce and Eliza Timothy, as well as his extended family.

Born in Salt Lake City on September 4, 1978, Paul was the second of four kids to Lewis and Beverly Pierce.
To put it in a nutshell, he was an outgoing person from a young age. Paul loved being the loudest, funniest person in the room to the point that if somebody didn’t laugh at his jokes, it crushed him.
A lifelong football fan, Paul, grew up loving the Chicago Bears, no matter how bad they played.
He played Little League as a kid and, in high school, was the center for the Hunter High Wolverines in West Valley City, Utah.
In junior high, he put on a knight costume for a school play, and later on, he had the whole school cracking up doing his Chris Farley impression, especially the Matt Foley bit where he smashed the coffee table.
For years, Paul worked as a water technician, fixing broken water lines for Jordan Valley and South Salt Lake. He was good at the job, but even better at pulling pranks and keeping everyone around him laughing.

Rest In Heavenly Peace, Paul Stephen Pierce!
