Anderson’s bicycle crashed with a tractor-trailer on Friday morning in LaPorte County, Indiana. The collision happened just before noon at the intersection of State Road 39 and County Road 900 North, where Anderson was riding with a group of bicyclists.

The Chicago community is mourning the loss of 29-year-old Mason Anderson, who tragically died in a bicycle accident in LaPorte County, Indiana, on Friday.

According to the Police, Anderson was riding with a group of cyclists along the shoulder of State Road 39. Meanwhile, a CMV (tractor-trailer combination), driven by a 64-year-old man traveling south on SR 39, entered the left lane to pass the group.

While the vehicle was trying to move in a passing zone to overtake the group of bicyclists, Anderson just happened to turn left onto County Road 900 North. Despite the driver’s attempt, the vehicle steered further left to avoid Anderson.

However, Anderson collided with the trailer and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash took place just before noon.

Mason Anderson was a native of Minnesota, but lived in Chicago. His family and friends remember him as an adventurous man who was full of kindness and curiosity. For Anderson, cycling was not just a hobby but also a passion that mirrored his love of exploration and discovery.
