His death follows years of deep sorrow and addiction, beginning after the loss of his brother, Anthony Jr., in 2014.

His story is one of love, strength, and the painful reality of unresolved grief, as shared by his devoted family.

Tiriik was a lifelong resident of Clarksville, where he attended Kenwood Elementary and later pursued higher education at Vanderbilt University.

His time in the ring showed his strength and determination, qualities that endeared him to friends, fellow athletes, and the wider community.

The turning point in Tiriik’s life came with the tragic death of his brother, Anthony Jr., more than a decade ago.

This devastating loss left an indelible mark, leading to intense grief that he carried for years.

Despite the pain, Tiriik remained a bright presence to those who knew him, always quick with a smile and a warm greeting.

His mother, Yolanda “Snoopy” Johnson, announced his passing with a heartfelt message that has touched many hearts:

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Tiriik Johnson, on January 11, 2026. Following the loss of his brother, Anthony Jr., in 2014, Tiriik struggled deeply with grief that weighed heavily on his heart and contributed to his battle with addiction. Tiriik was loved beyond measure, and his life mattered. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that he and his brother are now back together again in Heaven. We share his story in hopes that it will bring understanding to the realities of grief and addiction. Addiction is real, and it does not define a person’s worth. We ask for prayers, grace, and privacy as our family mourns another unimaginable loss.”
