Jamie Peck, a football and basketball coach at Clinton Community School District, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 1, 2025.

He had been with the Clinton Cougars for over 30 years, participating in various sports, including football, basketball, softball, and baseball.

The Clinton Community School District is more than just a place of education. It’s a community built on dedication and spirit.

Jamie Peck was a fixture in the district’s athletic programs, and his constant commitment left an indelible mark on generations of students and colleagues.

He was a 1992 graduate of Clinton High School, and his connection to his alma mater was lifelong. He was a constant and energetic presence, deeply involved in sports.

His passion wasn’t confined to a single arena, and he participated in and supported a wide range of activities, including football, basketball, softball, and baseball.

While Peck was undoubtedly a fan in the stands, his proper role was on the field and court as a dedicated contributor. He was a coach, a mentor, a colleague, and a friend.

He was the kind of person who was involved in anything that needed doing, whether it was drawing up plays, offering encouragement, or meticulously keeping score.

Unfortunately, his untimely passing saddened the whole community, and many remembered him in their heartfelt tribute.

The Clinton community has lost someone truly special—someone who gave so much to many teams and left a lasting impact across our district. Thank you, Coach Peck!

Jamie Peck was the Pillar of the Clinton Community

Jamie Peck dedicated over 30 years to the Clinton Community School District, and his life was deeply intertwined with the Clinton Cougars.

His presence was a constant and comforting force, but sadly, he passed away untimely on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Peck participated in and coached a wide array of sports, including football, basketball, softball, and baseball.

He was the invaluable behind-the-scenes force whose willingness to step up and help ensured countless games and seasons ran smoothly.

His knowledge and dedication were recognized at the highest levels, most notably during his time as a valued assistant on Jeff Spiwak’s coaching staff.

Their work together was honored in 2013 when Spiwak was named the Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week.

Peck’s legacy isn’t measured in trophies or titles, but rather in the countless young athletes he encouraged, the colleagues he supported, and the community spirit he helped foster.

He was not only a great individual but also a mentor who profoundly impacted the lives of many students. His long track record of coaching was something very near and dear to him.

Peck truly was the heart of the Clinton Cougars, and his contributions will be remembered long after the final whistle has blown.

Taking a moment to honor the life of Jamie Peck. For over 30 years, he has been involved in either football, basketball, softball, or baseball for the Clinton Community School District. Whether it’s coaching, score keeping, or anything to be involved. Today, we lost a coach, mentor, colleague, and friend. RIP, my friend.

Furthermore, in a beautiful tribute to honor his memory, a classmate from 1992 has established a scholarship in his name.

This scholarship will be awarded to a student-athlete Jamie coached, who will be graduating from Clinton in the Spring of 2026.

Anyone who wishes to contribute to the Jamie Peck Memorial Scholarship may do so by donating directly to Beth Stone Johnson through check, cash, Venmo (Elizabeth-Johnson-361), or PayPal (ladybird7817).

Nonetheless, Jamie Peck will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and generations of Clinton students and athletes.

The Peck family will soon announce Peck’s celebration of life. Rest in Peace, Coach.

Rest in peace, Coach Jamie Peck! Thank you for your ongoing assistance and dedication to the Clinton sports programs throughout the years.
