Coach and PE Teacher Steven “Cody” Briggs from the Falcon Ridge Elementary community has passed away, leaving his wife and two children grieving.

Cody was a devoted husband and a loving father who spent his evenings and weekends on the sidelines supporting his boys at their games and matches.

His love for sports guided his career, and he shared that passion with students as a PE teacher.

His students lovingly called him “Coach Cody,” as he brought energy to every class.

Briggs Family Seeks Community Support, Following the Unexpected Death of Beloved Coach Cody in Costa Rica!

According to Cody’s sister, Ashley Briggs from Salt Lake City, UT, Cody died while vacationing in Costa Rica during the Thanksgiving holiday.

The cause of Cody’s tragic passing has not been disclosed, but his death was confirmed by Ashley, who has also organized a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe.

In her post, Ashley shared that Cody was enjoying the holiday with his family, including his wife, Kaysi, and their two sons, Zane and Daxton.

While his wife and sons are safe, they are now seeking support from the community to hold a proper funeral for Cody.

Following Cody’s passing in another country, the family has already returned to their hometown, but they are still facing financial difficulties.

Friends and loved ones are selling tamales to help support them, hoping to ease some of the financial burden and give the boys something to smile about this Christmas.

Many people have donated so far, inspired by Cody’s story or because their children were students of Coach Cody. They continue to express their support.

For now, the collected funds will be used for Cody’s funeral and other related arrangements.

While the entire community mourns the loss of Cody, we also express our heartfelt condolences to the Briggs family, their friends, and all the well-wishers.

Rest in Peace, Coach!
