Elijah ‘Eli’ Stouffer, a Collingwood, Ontario native and exceptional multi-sports athlete, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at an untimely age of 17, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.
According to reports, Eli Stouffer lost his life in a tragic car accident; however, details regarding his untimely death have not yet been disclosed.
Born on January 27, 2008, Elijah ‘Eli’ John Stouffer touched the lives of many with his amazing athletic skills and his kind and cheerful nature.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Eli Stouffer began his hockey journey at a very young age and played for the Collingwood Collegiate Institute hockey team.
He also played multiple sports, including basketball and football.
Furthermore, the untimely death of Eli Stouffer has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.
Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late Eli and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
Collingwood community has also created a GoFundMe to help Eli Stouffer’s family with his funeral and memorial services, and to Alvin Tran, who survived the tragic accident and is recovering from his injuries.
Eli Stouffer is Survived By His Parents, Siblings, and The Entire Family
In addition to being an amazing athlete, Eli Stouffer was a great son to his parents, Katie and John Stouffer.
While Katie and John haven’t shared any statement regarding the untimely death of their beloved son, Eli Stouffer, they often share pictures of him on social media expressing their love and pride.
Eli’s parents, John and Katie, are Collingwood Tree Specialists and owners of an independent tree removal and pruning company.
Prior to establishing their own company, Eli’s father, John, served as a foreman at Nature’s Tree Service for nearly six years, a church planting apprentice at Owen Sound Alliance Church for almost three years, and a youth and children’s pastor at Alliston Alliance Church for nearly nine years.
John earned his Bachelor of Science with a major in Religion Studies from Liberty University in 2019.
Similarly, his mother, Katie, worked as an educational assistant at Simcoe County District School Board.
In addition to his parents, Eli Stouffer is survived by his five siblings, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and the entire family.
