Colorado Buffaloes Star Travis Hunter Was Guided by His Father, Travis Sr., Who Was a Semi-Professional Football Player!

This article was last updated by on

Travis Hunter, a wide receiver and cornerback for the Colorado Buffaloes, was born to his father, Travis Sr., and his mother, Ferrante Edmonds. He attributes his growth as a player to his parents’ constant support.

Travis’s father, Travis Sr., was a former semi-professional football player, inspiring his son to pursue sports from an early age.

Along with his father’s experience, Hunter also received strong mentorship from his mother, who supported him just as much.

His close relationship with his parents served as a continuous motivation for him to improve his game continuously.

Moreover, the football star credits much of his success to his parents, who not only believed in his capabilities but also pushed him to chase his NIL dreams.

Travis Hunter Acknowledges His Parents’ Support in His Career, Even Gifting His Mother a Home for Her Birthday!

Hunter’s father, Travis Sr., previously played in the Florida Football Alliance and the Southern States Football League.

Additionally, he won the title of Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2007 at the Southern Football League.

As a result, Travis’s father’s athletic career had a significant influence on him, inspiring him to follow in his footsteps.

His father often gave him lessons and mentored him during the early stages of his career.

Not to mention, his mother, Ferrante Edmonds, also believed and supported her son since day one.

In a Mothers Day Special interview, Edmonds expressed her admiration for Travis’s mentor, Deion Sanders, showcasing her deep involvement and interest in her son’s football journey.

Deion is exactly what he needs. You want someone who will pour into your child.

To show his gratitude, Travis surprised his mom with a five-bedroom, two-bathroom home for her birthday, which he also shared on his YouTube channel.

According to Essentially Sports, the football star also has expressed how his father taught him to stay hungry and to be the best, saying:

My dad taught me to always keep fighting. No matter the situation, stay hungry.

Although it appears that his mother has remarried again with his step-dad, Andre Harris, the support has been consistent from his step-father as well.

Nonetheless, Travis’s remarkable journey as a football player is deeply rooted in the guidance of his parents.
