The Illinois community is mourning the untimely death of their beloved high school student-athlete, David Balachowski.

According to a GoFundMe created by Bozena, a resident of Roselle, Illinois, and a very close family friend of the Balachowski Family, David Balachowski passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at an untimely age of 17.

However, the family has not yet revealed the actual details surrounding David’s passing.

David Balachowski touched the lives of many with his remarkable athletic skills and his kind, cheerful nature.

He was a senior at Conant High School in Hoffman Estates and was recognized for his athletic achievements during his high school career.

Similarly, many of his loved ones are recalling David’s memories and paying tribute to his family during this difficult time.

One wrote: “Thanks for being an amazing friend, David. We miss you ❤️.”

Another added:

“David was a bright, kind, and driven young man — a senior in Conant high school with big dreams for college and a future full of promise. He loved running, working out, and spending time with his family, both here and in Poland. David had a way of making friends everywhere he went. His smile lit up every room, and his energy made everyone around him feel welcome and seen.”

David Balachowski Was a Track and Field Star at Conant High School

The late David Balachowski was a talented 17-year-old student-athlete from Conant High School in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, where he competed for the Cougars track and field team.

A dedicated multi-event athlete, David excelled in sprints and high jump. During the 2025 season, he recorded a 5’6″ high jump, one of the best marks on his team, and placed 7th (5’4.25″) at the MSL West Division Boys Championship on April 22, 2025, proudly representing Conant against intense competition from schools across the league.

He continued to show promise throughout the season, competing in the 100m, 200m, and 400m events, as well as multiple relay events, including a 1:36.71 finish in the 4×200 relay at the Mid-Suburban League Championship.

His steady improvement resulted in personal bests, including 7.95 in the 60m, 11.64c in the 100m, and 59.34 in the 400m.

Known for his work ethic, dedication, and positive spirit, David was a valued teammate whose absence leaves a profound void in the Conant community. He will be remembered for his drive, talent, and passion for the sport he loved.

David Balachowski is survived by his parents, Marek and Agnieszka, and his younger brother, Adrian; his grandparents; uncles; aunts; and the entire family.
