Crissy Welch Scronce’s death has left a profound sense of loss among her family, friends, and the North Carolina communities she faithfully served throughout her life.

Crystal “Crissy” Welch Scronce, age 56, of Wyant Road in Vale, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, following a courageous battle that she faced with quiet strength and unwavering faith.

Born on November 27, 1969, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Crissy was the daughter of Steve Eugene Welch Sr. and Doris Treadaway Welch.

From an early age, she built her life around faith, family, and service—values that defined her character and shaped the way she loved others.

Crissy devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Michael Scronce, who described her as a blessing not only to him but to countless others.

Together, they built a home filled with compassion and generosity. Crissy took immense pride in her role as a mother to her two sons, Logan Scronce (Hannah) and Luke Scronce (Bailey), placing their happiness and well-being at the center of her world.

Her love extended deeply to her siblings as well. She shared a special bond with her twin sister, Penny Vowell (Troy), and remained close to her brothers, Steve Welch Jr. (Jane) and Kelly Welch (Nancy).

Crissy also cherished her nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom will carry her memory forward.

Professionally, Crissy earned respect through her dedication and strong work ethic.

She served as an office manager at Dorco Manufacturing in Gastonia, worked with the YMCA of Lincolnton, and later contributed her talents to the Lincoln County School System.

In every role she held, she led with kindness, reliability, and care for others.

Crissy Welch Scronce’s death has also deeply affected the many people she helped through her volunteer work.

She gave countless hours to local schools, food pantries, Christian ministries, church activities, scouting programs, and community organizations.

A service to celebrate Crissy’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Crowell Memorial Church in Lincolnton, North Carolina, with Pastor Butch Ross and Eric Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Those wishing to honor Crissy’s legacy may make memorial contributions to Crowell Memorial Church’s Building Fund at 4018 Killian Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Her impact remains deeply etched in the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy of service and compassion will continue to inspire for years to come.
