Dorvis Lornet Navarro Queralta, a talented Cuban baseball player and a young pitcher from Isla de la Juventud, passed away at a very young age.

Dorvis’s journey in baseball began at a young age. He sharpened his skills over the years and eventually became a pitcher for the Isla de la Juventud teams in the Cuban National Series.

His talent and dedication earned him a spot in the national under-23 selections.

Despite playing for one of the less-favored teams, he made a mark with his skills.

Tragically, on March 25, 2025, he passed away at the young age of 24 in his hometown, reportedly due to a heart attack.

However, some sources mentioned that the cause of his demise was an aortic aneurysm.

The Cuban baseball community is mourning the loss of Dorvis Lornet Navarro Queralta.

He was known for his contributions to the Isla de la Juventud teams and the national under-23 selections.

In the Cuban National Series, he donned the Priates jersey for three seasons.

During that time, he secured 13 wins, 20 losses, and 3 saves across 79 appearances and earned a run average of 5.16 and 154 strikeouts.

Even though he represented one of the less-favoured teams in the league, his performance earned him recognition as a skilled player.

Born and raised in Isla De La Juventud, he was known for his love of baseball and vibrant culture.

While specific details about his childhood and family are limited, it is clear that his family supported his baseball journey.

His untimely passing has deeply affected his teammates, family, and fans. They shared heartfelt tributes and condolences via social media.

One of his fans expressed his heartfelt sorrow on Facebook, saying:

How sad, so young, my sincere condolences to the family and friends and the Pinero people who feel him as one more son, with pain from Santiago de Cuba.

The Pirates team bid farewell to athlete Dorvis with great sadness. Also, the people of Pinar del Río took to the streets to bid farewell to the pitcher for the Pirates and Cuban teams.
