Tragically, on March 25, 2025, he passed away at the young age of 24 in his hometown, reportedly due to a heart attack.
However, some sources mentioned that the cause of his demise was an aortic aneurysm.

During that time, he secured 13 wins, 20 losses, and 3 saves across 79 appearances and earned a run average of 5.16 and 154 strikeouts.

The Pirates team bid farewell to athlete Dorvis with great sadness. Also, the people of Pinar del RÃo took to the streets to bid farewell to the pitcher for the Pirates and Cuban teams.
