Australian former rules footballer Daisy Pearce has twins with her partner Ben O’Neill. Maybe because she has lived with him for so long, raising the kids well, people often think that Ben is her husband.
However, the pair has not yet tied the knot.
Looking at their amazing bond, one can rest assured that the couple is destined to live together forever. But they have given no hint regarding their marriage date yet.
The daughter of a football coach, Daisy Pearce, started playing football early in childhood. As most football players used to be boys, she grew up practicing the game with boys until she reached her teens.
She had even asked for permission from the local league to continue playing games with the boys in her teen years, but they disallowed her. In the meantime, she also played netball, volleyball, and tennis.
However, she eventually returned to playing football and joined the Darebin Women’s Sports Club of the VWFL in 2005. She entered the Australian national rules football women’s team a year later.
Daisy was a midfielder and defender for the Melbourne Football Club of the AWSL for nearly seven years before announcing her retirement in 2023.
During her league career, Pearce won numerous honors and accolades, including the AFL Women’s premiership player in 2022.
Daisy Pearce Husband: Ben O’Neill
The Australian professional athlete Daisy Pearce is in a live-in relationship with Ben O’Neill. It is unclear when they started dating, but she did not give any clue to her fans until she posted him on her Instagram handle in June 2018.
Two months later, she took to her social media account to announce her pregnancy among her fans.
She wrote, “Ben and I made two little humans (refer to grey blobs and use your imagination). ETA March 2019.”
Daisy gave birth to her twin babies, Sylvie and Roy O’Neil, in February 2019, almost a month before her due date. Her son, Roy, was previously diagnosed with a congenital condition named dextrocardia, but both their children are fine now.
Speaking more of Ben, he is a firefighter from Melbourne.
A rules football fan, Ben is his wife’s greatest supporter. When she gained a lot of weight during her pregnancy, he later assisted her in her fitness training so that she could return to the field again.
With his motivation, Daisy played three more seasons for Melbourne. The couple currently resides with their kids, splitting their time between Porepunkah, Victoria, and Melbourne.
Daisy Outside Football
Daisy has involved herself in various projects after she quit playing football in January 2023.
A month after her retirement, she signed a four-year contract with the Geelong FC as its development coach.
While she is still continuing her job as a football team coach, Pearce is also a media personality as she works in both radio and television. She is an expert commentator for the Seven Network and 1116 SEN’s AFL coverage.
In fact, she started appearing in TV programs way before the end of her football career.
Daisy has frequently appeared as a panel member of the Seven Network program AFL Game Day since 2016.
