Daniel Price, a native of Alabama and a former student-athlete at Daleville High School, passed away unexpectedly after suffering an asthma attack on Sunday, June 23, 2025, at the age of 19.
The untimely demise of Daleville High School football star Daniel Price, also known as Daniel Blake, was announced by his aunt, Melisa Price Childs.
According to Melisa Price Childs’ social media post, the 19-year-old athlete had struggled with asthma his whole life and had been in and out of the hospital due to complications.
She further added that on Sunday morning, Daniel Price had an asthma attack, and unfortunately, his rescue inhaler wasn’t helping.
Similarly, his girlfriend tried rushing Daniel to Enterprise ER, but despite her efforts, she couldn’t save him, and Daniel Price lost his life, just one month shy of his 20th birthday.
In response to his untimely demise, many of Daniel Price’s loved ones are paying tribute to the Daleville football star and sending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
His high school head coach, Maurice Freeman, took to his Facebook to express his sorrow at losing Daniel Price. he wrote, “My heart is broken. Rest well, Linebacker. Love Coach Freeman.“
Daniel Price, aka Daniel Blake, is survived by his father, Jerry Price; brother, Dylan Price; aunts, Jennifer Price Sweeney and Melisa Price Childs; sister; and the whole family.
His kind and cheerful nature, as well as his athletic journey, will always remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and loved ones.
Late Daniel Price Made His Mark on Daleville High School Football
Daniel Price had just graduated from Daleville High School in Daleville, Alabama, just months prior to his untimely passing.
While at Daleville High School, the late Daniel Price proudly played varsity football as a linebacker and running back.
Standing 5’9” and weighing 185 pounds, he wore jersey #6 during his senior season and was known for his determination and team spirit.
In the 2024-25 season, Daniel recorded 12 total tackles in just three games, showcasing his drive and dedication to the sport he loved.
He was widely seen as a young man with a bright future ahead. Daniel’s passing has left a deep impact on the Daleville community.
