Dallas Cowboys CB Kaiir Elam Shares A Beautiful Bond With His Brother Aydan Elam

Athletic family!

Behind every rising NFL star is a story of family, legacy, and the people who helped shape them. For Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kaiir Elam, that person is his younger brother, Aydan Elam.

Their bond goes beyond football and into brotherhood, mentorship, and deep admiration.

A Brotherly Debut In Buffalo

When Kaiir Elam was drafted 23rd overall in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills, the first person to wear his new No. 24 jersey wasn’t Kaiir himself; it was Aydan.

Kaiir recalled,

“We were in the locker room taking pictures with my jersey, my family and I think [Aydan] asked one of the equipment guys, ‘Can I wear it?’ and they said yeah. He wore it even before I did.”

That moment captured the spirit of their relationship, playful, proud, and full of support.

Kaiir and Aydan are ten years apart in age, but that hasn’t stopped them from forming a remarkably close bond.

While Kaiir is busy with his NFL career, Aydan, now playing tackle football for his middle school, is eager to follow in his brother’s footsteps, often mimicking his every move.

Kaiir shared,

“He calls me every day after practice. He tells me how his day went, asks about my games. It’s honestly brought us even closer.”

Though they now live miles apart, their daily phone calls and shared passion for football keep the connection strong.

Football In The Bloodline

Athleticism runs deep in the Elam family. Kaiir’s father, Abram Elam, played in the NFL for seven seasons.

His uncle, Matt Elam, was a first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft and currently plays for the Massachusetts Pirates in the Indoor Football League.

Now, Kaiir continues the legacy, not only by performing on the field but by passing on guidance and wisdom to Aydan.

Despite the family’s football pedigree, Kaiir is careful not to pressure Aydan into becoming the “next Elam” in the NFL.

He explained,

“I just want him to be himself. My parents didn’t push me into football. They actually pushed me away from it, and that made me want it more. For Aydan, I want him to explore everything, be a doctor, a lawyer, an astronaut. But if he chooses football, I just want him to be the best Aydan he can be. Not better than me, just himself.”
