Natalie Earls passed away suddenly on December 28, 2025, a loss that has deeply saddened the school and local community.

While the cause of her death has not been publicly shared, her passing came as a shock to many who knew and worked with her.

She was a constant source of encouragement and support to her students and colleagues, and her absence will be greatly felt throughout the district.

Natalie Earls Dedicated 23 Years To Teaching, Coaching, and Supporting Students!

Natalie Earls, a Cheswick, Pennsylvania resident, was a dedicated teacher, cheer coach, and mentor who spent 23 years serving the Deer Lakes School District.

A 1990 graduate of Deer Lakes High School, she returned to her alma mater to teach World Languages, including French and Spanish, at both the high school and middle school levels.

Beyond teaching, she coordinated middle school athletics for many years, coached hundreds of cheerleaders, and co-directed several middle school and high school drama productions.

In addition, she previously taught at Carlynton School District and Serra Catholic High School.

A graduate of Slippery Rock State University, Earls was known for her strong commitment to helping students succeed in academics, athletics, and the arts.

The Deer Lakes community and the Cheswick area are mourning her sudden loss.

Students, parents, staff, and alumni have shared memories honoring her kindness, dedication, and compassion.

One of the school counselors at Deer Lakes Middle School also shared a heartfelt message honoring Natalie Earls and her lasting impact.

In an emotional tribute, the counselor wrote:

“Today is the day… to live with compassion towards others. I say goodbye to one of my dearest friends, Natalie Earls. She fought so hard… her legacy will live on. Thoughts and prayers for all who knew and loved her. The Deer Lakes community mourns her loss.”

In a similar way, the counselor also urged members of the community to change their profile pictures to an image honoring Ms. Earls, as a way to celebrate her life and preserve her memory.

Natalie Earls will be remembered for the positive impact she made on countless lives and for a career devoted to education, community, and caring for others.
