The news of recent shooting in the Denver area involving Broncos player Josh Reynolds has terrified everyone.
Joshua Reynolds is a wide receiver for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL).
Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Reynolds’ passion to pursue football as his professional career started from a very young age.
He was the wide receiver and safety for the John Jay High School Mustangs high school football team.
Eventually, in 2024 he signed a 2-years contract worth $9M with the Denver Broncos after his stints with Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions.
Josh Reynold and The Other Victims Saved Themselves From Fatal Gunshot Injuries
On 18th October, 2024, Josh Reynolds became one of the victims of an open firing that took place in Denver.

However, the Broncos officially confirmed about the unfortunate news only a week after the incident took place.
“Josh Reynolds was a victim of a shooting on Friday in Denver and received treatment for minor injuries. Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”

At the time of the shooting, Reynolds was already on an Injury Reserve(IR) due to his broken finger.
As per the police report, Reynolds and two other men spent their night at Shotgun Willie’s in Glendale, Colorado.
Reynolds eventually left the club at around 2:45 A.M. in a blue Ford Bronco along with one of the men. However, they were oblivious about a vehicle following them, which suddenly started open firing.
Therefore, Reynolds and other man abandoned their vehicle on Interstate 25, as they could no longer drive. Police later discovered multiple bullet holes in the SUV.
The shooting resulted in three victims, who fortunately only endured minor injuries.
Reynolds sustained gunshot wounds in his left arm and in the back of his head, while the other man was shot in his back.
However, the third man didn’t endure any gunshot injury but got wounded by shattered glass.
They saved themselves from fatal gunshot injuries, by climbing over a fence and escaping from the gun firing.
As per the court documents, Reynolds and his companion had not faced any any disturbances inside the club.
After A Thorough Investigation, Police Has Arrested Two Suspect
Denver police later arrested two men in connection to the shooting. The two suspects are 35 years old Luis Mendoza and 42 years old Burr Charlesworth.
The club’s video footage clearly showed that Mendoza followed Reynolds and the two others out of the strip club when the group left.
Moreover, a surveillance video caught Mendoza’s vehicle following the vehicles driven by Reynolds and other victims.
These evidence were enough for the Denver Police to arrest Mendoza and Charlesworth as major suspects and hold them for investigation of attempted first-degree homicide and first-degree assault.
As of now, police has not found any motive behind the shooting and it is still unclear if Reynolds was the primary target.
Similarly, Mendoza’s companion, Charlesworth claims that he was just assisting his friend who had asked him to follow the victims due to their prior interaction.
Furthermore, the Broncos coach, Sean Payton has recently addressed about the horrific incident.
