Derrick Rose is a Chicago native and former NBA star who spent 16 years playing professionally for several teams.

Derrick Rose, also known as D-Rose, primarily played for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA. He also played for the New York Knicks, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, and Cleveland Cavaliers.

He also won two gold medals representing the U.S. men’s basketball team in the FIBA World Cup.

Moreover, Derrick Rose is recognized not only for his professional career but also as a devoted father to his son, Derrick Rose Jr., also known as PJ Rose, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend, Mieka Reese.

The former couple welcomed their only son together, Derrick Jr., on October 9, 2012. Derrick Jr. is also the eldest of Derrick’s three children.

Despite their separation, Derrick Rose and Mieka Reese have come together to co-parent their only son, raising him with love and support.

The former couple has committed themselves to co-parenting. In an interview, Mieka stated:

“No Derrick and I are not in a relationship anymore but our friendship has always been there and will continue to grow,even if our only purpose in life was to create our son, I’m fine with that.” My son is the greatest gift.”

Derrick Jr., known as ‘PJ Rose,’ is now 13 years old and is following in his father’s footsteps in basketball. He plays for his father’s AAU team and is a 7th-grade student-athlete at Chicago Skinner West Elementary, where he also competes on the school’s basketball team.

At a young age, Derrick Jr. has already captured many hearts with his impressive basketball skills, winning multiple championships.

Derrick Rose and Mieka Reese never miss a chance to attend their son’s game as his biggest cheerleaders, often wearing matching clothes and sharing his pictures on social media.

Back in 2023, on PJ Rose’s first day of fifth grade, Mieka took to Instagram to share the joyous occasion, posting a series of photos featuring Derrick, his wife Alaina Anderson, and their two children alongside her and PJ—showcasing that despite their separation, they remain united as a family in supporting their son.

After separating from his former girlfriend and the mother of his eldest son, Mieka Reese, Derrick Rose began dating a model, fitness influencer, and entrepreneur, Alaina Anderson, in 2016.

After five years of dating, Derrick and Alaina got engaged on October 12, 2021. The former Bulls star proposed to his longtime partner on the court of Madison Square Garden.

The couple further tied the knot on September 7, 2023, at The Beverly Hills Hotel in California.

Likewise, the couple is proud parents of two children, a daughter, Layla, and a son named London.

They welcomed their first child together, daughter Layla Malibu Rose, on March 4, 2018, and their son, London Marley, was born on May 26, 2019.

Derrick and Alaine often share pictures of their children on social media, expressing their love and pride for them.
