Jahmyr Gibbs’ adoptive parents, Greg and Dusty Ross, saw his talent and desire early on and let him fully cultivate and explore his athletic gifts.

American professional football running back Jahmyr Gibbs was born in Dalton, Georgia, on March 20, 2002.

He plays for the Detroit Lions of the NFL. In his first NFL season, Gibbs earned the All-Rookie Team honor and voted to the Pro Bowl.

Jahmyr Gibbs’ Adoptive Mother Serendipitously Met Him While Volunteering Nearby Shelter!

While most people do not receive the love and support they need from their family, running back Jahmyr Gibbs receives unconditional affection from both his birth and adopted families.

Although his family background might initially seem intricate or challenging to understand, it is straightforward and heartfelt when you delve into it.

While Gibbs’ biological parents are Neka Willis and an unnamed father, his adoptive parents are Greg and Dusty Ross.

However, Jahmyr refers to his grandmother, Angela Willis, as his mother. His grandmother is his primary source of encouragement and drive.

Angela has raised him since he was 13 and is his legal guardian.

Since Gibbs endured several challenges during his early youth, he and his grandma had to stay at a nearby shelter. The shelter assisted the modest family of two with food and clothing.

Dusty Ross serendipitously met Jahmyr in a shelter where she was volunteering.

However, the Ross family did not adopt him at that time. The family eventually adopted Jahymr in 2017.

Nonetheless, his grandmother is still present in his life. In an interview, she revealed that she often checks in on him.

After the Ross family legally adopted Jahymr, they played a vital role in his personal and professional growth.

His adoptive parents, Greg and Dusty Ross, also have other children: Max Ross, John Ross, and Ahmand Tanner.

Growing up with half brothers who shared his enthusiasm for sports, Jahymr was eventually inspired to succeed in high school sports.

While Ahmaad Tanner played for Austin Peay State University, Max Ross was on his high school football team.

Similarly, Josh Ross attended Georgia Tech and played football with Gibbs.

Despite Not Being Jahmyr Gibbs’ Biological Parents, Greg And Dusty Have Nurtured Him With Great Love, Care, And Support!

Jahymr Gibbs attended Dalton High School. During his junior season, he carried 1,431 yards and 20 touchdowns, up from 897 yards and 10 touchdowns in his sophomore year.

Gibbs topped the state in both rushing yards and touchdowns as a senior. He received first-team all-state accolades, Georgia 6-A 2020 Offensive Player of the Year, and Sports Illustrated first-team All-American status.

Additionally, he received an invitation to participate in the 2020 All-American Bowl. Hence, Gibbs ended his high school career with 4,882 running yards and 70 touchdowns.

His collegiate career was as impressive as his high school. He spent two seasons at Georgia Tech before moving to Alabama in 2022.

Moreover, he earned the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Freshman of the Week honor after a standout performance against Louisville, totaling 246 all-purpose yards and scoring two touchdowns.

Jahymr excelled as a running back at Alabama, with excellent speed, flexibility, and receiving skills.

His collegiate career culminated with a stellar 2023 season, earning him a first-round choice in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions.

While little information exists about his adoptive parents, Greg and Dusty Ross, they have nurtured the NFL athlete with great love, care, and support.

Greg and Dusty are active on social media, regularly sharing photos of their enjoyable time with their children.

They have created a good atmosphere for their four boys to thrive and prosper.

Furthermore, the couple openly expresses their pride and joy in being the parents of Jahymr Gibbs.

Greg and Dusty Ross saw his talent and desire early on and let him fully cultivate and explore his athletic gifts.

Their unrelenting support, guidance, and faith in him established a stable foundation that allowed him to thrive both on and off the field.
