As a junior, he received honorable-mention all-state honors for impressive rushing and receiving stats.

In his senior year, Vaughn broke Cedar Ridge’s single-season rushing record and earned the District 13-6A Offensive MVP award for the second consecutive time.

Overall, he amassed 4,405 rushing yards, 38 rushing touchdowns, 914 receiving yards, 11 receiving touchdowns, 153 return yards, and 5,472 all-purpose yards during his high school career.
