Deven Thompkins was born in Fort Myers, Florida, on December 23, 1999.

After earning 4A all-state honors as a sophomore and junior at Bishop Verot High School in Fort Myers, Deven played his senior season at Dunbar High School in Fort Myers, Florida.

Thompkins spent four seasons as a member of the Utah Aggies, recording 40 passes for 536 yards and four touchdowns.

Furthermore, on May 1, 2022, he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent.

Despite joining the practice squad of Bay in 2022, he earned a promotion to the active roster in December of the same year.

He plays as a football wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL).

Who Is Deven Thompkins Wife? Who Are His Children?

Deven Thompkins is a loving husband to his wife, Maria Castilhos.

The high school sweethearts welcomed their first child, Nyomi Thompkins, in July 2018, just before Thompkins started his college career.

Similarly, the couple welcomed their second child, Messiah Thompkins, in September 2019.

Thompkins, referring to his eldest child Nyomi, who is only five years old, sees much of himself in her and affectionately calls her his wild child.

While just four years old, Thompkins sees his youngest, Messiah, as a strong fighter and his angel baby—a miracle.

Diagnosed with Down syndrome, Messiah faces challenges, but Thompkins emphasizes that there’s no quit in him.

Deven’s Inspiring Journey as a Student, Father, and Wide Receiver

Handling everything well, the wide receiver, Deven, found it challenging to be a student while caring for his child.

Until the summer of Thompkins’ junior year, his family stayed together, but Maria took both children back to Florida for a short period.

During their summer stay, when Deven had to care for Nyomi, he would bring her to his university, and his professors would hold Nyomi for him throughout the entire lecture.

Maria pursued a medical education in California, while Nyomi lived with her, and Messiah lived with his father.

With only a cost-of-attendance stipend and little else, Thompkins juggled fatherhood, football, and a full-time class schedule.

The workload became more manageable when he could access all his courses online, enabling him to stay at home for part of the day and watch his son.

Moreover, his teammates, including former Jefferson High receiver Justin McGriff, frequently took turns babysitting.

In many meetings recalled by Cefalo, Messiah would nap or take a bottle in the back of the room beside his dad.

Recalling all the times, Thompkins desires to be more than just the best football player he can be; he also aspires to be the best father for his children.
