Devin White, the Las Vegas Linebacker, is a cousin of another NFL player, Decamerion Richardson, who plays for the same team.
White was drafted 5th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019, who is the highest-drafted LSU player ever.
The player spent six seasons with the team and also won Super Bowl LV in 2021. He also had three seasons with 120+ tackles from 2020 to 2022.
After a dip in form, he requested a transfer but eventually left as a free agent to join the Philadelphia Eagles in March 2024. The Eagles again released him in October, and he was then forced to join the Houstan Texans mid-season and only had a limited impact.
Devin White And His Younger Cousin To Play Alongside Each Other
Devin didn’t have his best years for the past couple of seasons, but he has a chance to prove his worth again with the Las Vegas Raiders.
He will have plenty of similar faces around the dressing room, as he will be alongside his previous General Manager, John Spytek, and his younger cousin, Decamerion Richardson.
Decamerion, 24, had a great rookie season for the Las Vegas Raiders, who were drafted in the 4th round (112th overall) in the 2024 NFL Draft. The rookie started seven and played a total of 12 games, had 46 tackles.
When a Reporter asked, “How cool is it for Decamerion to be with the team and how good is it for you to have a family that close ?” in the Press Conference, he responded;
“Yeah, with being so far away, that was pretty big for me. Like, we blood cousins. My dad and his mother are sisters and brothers. We are like first cousins. I ride to work with him every morning. We talk because I haven’t shipped my cars here out yet. I have just been locked in. We ride to work, we leave for work, we eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner together every day. And I just try to stay onto him because he battling for position. I know what it’s like to be on pitch and stay hungry. And I just let him know what my stand is for him. And hopefully he holds his standard for himself because just playing for the team with him is not enough. I want to be on the field dominating with him, celebrating with him when he makes a play, when I make a play. Thats like a surreal feeling man. My grandfather, he hit me up. Like, I know y’all going to do big things for the raiders. Ya’all going to help them get back whre they need to be. And that just shows you how many people that we’ve got just depending on us, man. Just making the family proud. So, I’m very proud of D Cam (Decamerion), man. He’s been good player all his life, great player all his life and we’re just going to continue to grow. And hopefully we can do it together right here.”
The duo has been training hard in the Raiders Camp as per White, and they will hope to start in the next NFL match against Seattle Seahawks on August 8, 2025.
