A concerned parent in Fulton took to social media over the weekend, seeking answers after her son was allegedly assaulted by an unidentified woman during an open skate session.

The incident, which reportedly occurred at a local ice rink frequently attended by families and youth skaters, sparked community concern, debate, and calls for action.

The post was made by Katelyn Rose in the Pay it Forward Oswego County Facebook group, a widely followed community forum.

Accompanying the post was a photo of the unknown woman, prompting members to identify her. Rose wrote,

Does anyone know who this lady is? She assaulted my son at open skate last night in Fulton and we’re looking for any information. Please share and help us find her!!!!

Several commenters urged Rose to contact the police immediately and to request security footage from the rink. Nichole Brutcher commented,

I would say contact the police and see if the ice skating rink has video cameras. The police should be able to get the footage if there are cameras

Nicole Brutcher

Another commenter, Collen Holly, said,

It is not to late to contact the police. Please call and report it. Completely unacceptable to assault an anyone let alone a child. I pray your son is OK.

Others questioned why authorities were not called at the moment of the incident. Sondra Conzone Battles an Administrative Assistant at Springside at Seneca Hill, wrote,

Should have called the police right away when it happened

Despite the advice, some expressed disbelief about the effectiveness of local law enforcement. One commenter, Angeline Clark, claimed,

Not sure who she is but I hope you find out, Fulton cops aren’t gonna do a damn thing. So useless I mean you have the Facebook police that think they are doing something by telling you how to parent your child but they are anonymous, and can’t show their faces, undercover ops. Hmm. I hope you get all of your answers!!

In addition to offering advice, some commenters shared potential sightings of the woman in question. One anonymous participant wrote,

I seen some one who looks like her at price chopper around 7 pm last night, don’t know if the times line up at all but figured I’d throw that out there. She was standing in the large door areas watching outside

Whether the individual spotted was the same woman remains unconfirmed, but the comment illustrates the level of community vigilance following the shared photo.

Alongside concern for the boy’s well-being, many comments turned toward broader criticism of the rink and its supervision practices.

Anna M. Gagnier wrote,

That rink is sketchy. So many parents drop.and go. Try Cicero if youre able.

Another participant questioned the absence of authority figures on-site:

Where are the adults at when this happens smh

Anonymous participant 324

Some commenters expressed anger over the alleged assault, with one person bluntly asking, “Why didn’t you lay her out?”

Others speculated that the woman appeared intoxicated based on the video shared in the original post.

Brianna Hamilton commented,

so sorry this happened to you girlie by the way she’s moving she looks intoxicated

Meanwhile, another user chimed in with a more controversial remark, “That’s a dude,” highlighting the spectrum of reactions ranging from supportive to dismissive.

Many users simply offered empathy. Michelle Mason wrote,

I hope u find her ASAP! Stay classy Fulton

As of now, there is no confirmation on whether a police report has been filed or whether the woman has been identified.

Community members and social media users continue to circulate the image, hoping someone will recognize the individual.
