Sonja Johanna Strom of Castle Rock, Colorado, passed away on September 2, 2025, leaving her family, friends, and community mourning her loss.
She was the beloved daughter of Peter and Christine Strom and a loving sister to Annika Strom.
Growing up in Castle Rock, Sonja thrived in every aspect of her life.
From her early years through her graduation from Douglas County High School, she immersed herself in the community—excelling in academics, sports, volunteering, and working for the town she cherished.
More recently, she made La Jolla, California, her second home while pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of California, San Diego.
Sonja lived life to the fullest. She loved traveling, taking winter ski trips, playing in the waves of the Pacific Ocean, experimenting with new TikTok recipes, reading, attending concerts, and spending time with friends and family.

Those who knew Sonja will remember her radiant energy and passion for life.
Her warm and compassionate personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Her friendships reflected loyalty, laughter, and genuine love, but above all, her heart belonged to her family.
Sonja is survived by her loving parents, Peter and Christine, her sister Annika, as well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins—all of whom will carry her memory and spirit forward.
A celebration of her life was held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Millhouse at Philip S. Miller Park, 1375 W Plum Creek Pkwy, Castle Rock, CO 80109.
The family requests that attendees wear bright, festive colors in honor of Sonja’s vibrant personality.
Sonja Strom will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the selfless love she shared so freely.
She touched many lives, and her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
