Loftis, born on October 18, 2004, began his football journey at Gaffney High School, where he excelled as the starting quarterback.

During his high school career, he led his team to an impressive 28-16 record over three seasons, highlighted by an undefeated 15-0 campaign and a state championship in 2021.

He showcased exceptional skill in high school, recording 6,965 passing yards and 55 touchdowns while earning multiple accolades, including region offensive player of the year.

His performance earned him a three-star prospect rating and recognition as one of South Carolina’s top pro-style quarterbacks.

In January 2023, he enrolled at Duke University and joined the Blue Devils football program.

As a freshman, he appeared in eight games, starting five, and completed 91 of 163 passes for 1,006 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions, along with adding a rushing touchdown.

He had standout performances during his debut season, including a career-high 270 passing yards against Virginia and 248 yards against Pittsburgh.

Following his promising debut, Loftis has announced his decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal, signaling a potential move to further his career at a different program.

Across his eight career games, he has compiled 1,023 total offensive yards, averaging 125.75 passing yards per game, with one rushing touchdown.

Notable achievements include throwing multiple touchdown passes in three games and completing a career-long 46-yard pass to Jordan Waters against Pittsburgh.

Additionally, Loftis logged a career-best 17 rushing yards, including an eight-yard run against Wake Forest.

With 371 total career snaps played, he has proven his ability to step up as a reliable leader on the field.
