Cameron Boozer followed in his father’s footsteps, pursuing a career in basketball. He plays for the Duke Blue Devils of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
His father, Carlos Boozer, won an Olympic gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
Cameron began playing basketball at Christopher Columbus High School, where he won a state championship in his sophomore year.
He was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year, Florida Mr. Basketball, and Mr. Basketball USA.
Alongside his twin brother, Cayden, he was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the top players in the 2025 class. Later, they both committed to play college basketball at Duke.
Cameron was part of the 2023 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship and led Team USA to a gold medal victory against Team Canada. Afterward, he won the Under-16 Most Valuable Player award on June 11, 2023.
Cameron and Cayden Boozer aren’t the first people in their family to play ball at Duke. Just like their famous pops Carlos, the Boozer twins are looking to bring a chip to Durham.

Cameron Boozer’s Parents are the Supportive Pillar Behind His Journey
Cameron Sikander Boozer, the son of Carlos Boozer and Cindy “CeCe” Nichole Blackwell, was born on July 18, 2007, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He has a strong support system, led by his parents, and their dedication has paved the way for his success.
Carlos Boozer is a basketball legend in his own right.
He was a star at Duke University, winning an NCAA championship in 2001 before enjoying a successful 13-year NBA career.
A two-time All-Star and Olympic gold medalist, Carlos now uses his wealth of experience to mentor his twin sons, Cameron and Cayden.
He is incredibly proud of their accomplishments and often enjoys being recognized as “Cameron and Cayden’s dad.“
“Hey, Mr. Boozer, you’re Cameron and Cayden’s dad?” I get that all the time. It probably happened for the first time two or three years ago. Every game they play is at an NBA level [of interest]… Their game has gone viral since they were freshmen [in high school].

Cindy “CeCe” Nichole Blackwell also attended Duke University with Carlos, whom she married in 2003. She is a business owner who runs a boutique in Atlanta.
CeCe is her sons’ biggest fan, regularly attending their games.
Beyond just cheering, she has always been actively involved in their basketball journey. She made sure their performances were evaluated individually and that they received direct attention from recruiters.
Carlos and CeCe Boozer have combined high-level basketball expertise with unwavering parental support for their talented sons.
The Boozer’s Twins Saved Their Elder Brother
The birth of the Boozer twins, Cayden and Cameron, was a moment of pure joy that was also part of a beautiful, life-saving mission.
Their story is forever intertwined with that of their older brother, Carmani.
Carmani was born with sickle-cell disease.
His best chance for a healthy life was a bone marrow transplant, and the best match would come from a sibling.
Afterward, his parents, CeCe and Carlos Boozer, chose to use in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to create embryos free of the sickle-cell gene.
Doctors found two perfect matches and placed them in their mother, CeCe’s, womb to ensure the best chance of success.
On July 18, 2007, Cayden and Cameron were born.
The day I saw [the twins], and they were here, and they were so beautiful and wonderful, I love them every bit as much as I did him (Carmani). I felt like they were special because God had given me them to help Carmani.

Doctors immediately collected stem cells from their umbilical cords for the transplant to Carmani. The procedure was a success.
Cayden and Cameron’s birth made the Boozer family grow by two, and their brother’s health was saved.
The idea of ‘I am my brother’s keeper’ pretty much defines our family. That’s who they’ve been since they were born, blessed to be able to take care of their brother.
