He was 54 years old and had fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 15, 1970, in St. Ignace, Michigan, Tim grew up in New Lothrop and graduated in 1988.

He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Education from Saginaw Valley State University.

On December 27, 1997, he married his soulmate, Jamie Skornicka, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Maple Grove.

Together, they shared 27 years of marriage and raised four children: Carson, Courtney, Chloe, and Clara.

Tim dedicated three decades of his life to Durand Middle School, where he served as a teacher, football coach, and mentor.

Known for his infectious positivity and his devotion to the “golden rule,” he left a lasting impact on countless students.

He often reminded his students of this rule with a physical ruler he kept in his classroom, making it a daily lesson in respect and kindness.

His coaching journey began in New Lothrop under Art Vlahon with girls’ track and field, and he continued coaching for over 32 years.

He also served as an assistant football coach at Durand for more than five years.

Beyond the classroom and track, Tim was a family man at heart.

He cherished time with his wife and children, enjoyed Detroit Lions football, and loved telling stories that made others feel as if they were living in each moment with him.

Friends and family remember his ability to connect with anyone, his kindness, and his love for listening to and sharing stories.

The news of Tim Krupp’s death has brought an outpouring of tributes from students, colleagues, athletes, and friends.

New Lothrop Track & Field described him as a coach who will forever be remembered for his kindness, humor, and dedication.

Former students recalled how his words of encouragement carried them through challenges, while fellow educators admired his professionalism, energy, and compassion.

Durand Area Schools expressed deep sorrow over the loss, noting that his impact spanned generations of learners.

Family members also shared their grief and gratitude for the time they had with him.

Emily Saunders, his niece-in-law, remembered his sharp memory, storytelling, and the laughter he brought to family gatherings.

Others reflected on his encouragement, mentorship, and unwavering belief in his students and athletes.

Tim is survived by his wife Jamie, their children Carson, Courtney, Chloe, and Clara, his parents Timothy and Jane, and his sister Jody Saunders.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Cyrllus and Joan Kreinbrink, and LaVearn and Edna Krupp.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Durand High School.
