A 19-year-old Edgewater High School graduate and athlete, Aidan Maybury, passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2025.
So far, the precise details surrounding Aidan Maybury’s demise remain unknown as his family processes the grief in private.
Aidan Maybury is survived by his parents, Kary Bunnell Maybury and Deron Maybury, and younger brother Colin.
Kary Bunnell, Aidan’s mother, spoke publicly for the first time since his passing via her Facebook on June 4, 2025, expressing appreciation for the overwhelming kindness and support shown to her family during this difficult time.
As some of you may have heard we lost our beloved Aidan unexpectedly. While our family is heartbroken we would like to thank you for the love and support we have received over the past 2 days.

Her Facebook post has been flooded with words of condolences from loved ones. Joanie Giblin McCabe wrote:
Kary honey, my heart is broken into pieces for you, for Colin, and your whole family. What a beautiful young man Aidan was, and I know he will stay forever in your heart & memories.
All of the McCabes send you our love & prayers. I hope that, in time, your happy memories of him will bring you comfort and peace, though I know you’re drowning in grief right now. We love you and will always be here for you! 💔🙏🏼
Mt. Alvernia High School graduate, Kary Bunnell, has been serving as the director of Finance at The Carroll Adams Group since 2008.
A 2001 graduate of Regis College, Kary Bunnell is originally from Boston, Massachusetts, but resides in Orlando, Florida.
Kary had documented every little, not-so-little milestone of her son on her Facebook, which offers a sneak peek into their upbringing.
From their early childhood celebrations to graduation and their acceptance into college, Kary has all the memories preserved in photos.

He also leaves behind his beloved grandparents, Theodore & Donna Bunnell, Christine & Kevin McGill, and Edward Maybury. Likewise, Maybury was also a treasured godson to his godparents, Amy Kennedy and Joseph LeClair.
A proud Orlando native, Aidan graduated from St. Andrew Catholic Elementary School and was a member of Edgewater High School’s Class of 2024.
Born on May 6, 2006, Aidan Maybury had recently completed his freshman year at the University of North Florida.
During his time at the university, Aidan was an active member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. He also worked as a lifeguard at the YCMA of Central Florida.
The community is invited to honor Aidan’s memory at visiting hours on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at DeGusipe Funeral Home, located at 900 N Orlando Avenue, Maitland.
Whereas, a funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church in Winter Park, followed by internment at Queen of the Angels Cemetery.
